New from VR Tuned is this performance Tuning Box kit for the Mercedes AMG C63 series 4.0L Turbo engines. This tuning box kit is a plug and play solution to tune your cars fuel, timing, and boost giving you up to 40% more power and 20% fuel savings. The VR Tuned ECU Tuning Box Kit gives your C63 4.0L Turbo engine a gain in power from 503bhp to 595bhp gaining you almost 90hp!

With manufactures trying to increase fuel economy by adding forced induction to vehicles that previously had large displacement engines, the ability to tune them further is even more prevalent now. However there are 2 main issues with tuning these newer vehicles. The manufactures have gotten very particular about having their ECUs accessed to be tuned. These "anti tuning" features make it hard to read and write the ECU via the OBDII port. Some ECUs can be removed and flashed on the bench once the case is open. This is an immediate flag to the dealer which ultimately will void your power train warranty if a situation arose. This is where the VR Tuned Tuning Box Kits come into play over the competition.
Engineered for boosted cars, these vehicle specific plug and play kits are designed to easily be installed and uninstalled as needed. The harnesses feature OEM plugs that attach to necessary sensors where the pre-mapped tuning box gives your vehicle huge amount of performance gains. Unlike other "piggyback" solutions, these use high quality connections, wires, and casing that are designed to be engine mounted for longevity to the elements. I don't want to be rude here, but you claim 40% more power and 20% better fuel economy...
According to your own dyno figures, your baseline was 521HP. 40% of that would lead to gains of 208HP. In your own dyno the tune produced 598HP corrected it seems. That's a gain of 77HP (which is a lovely gain, especially with the 120nm on top of that) but this equates to 14.8%, call it 15% gain, not 40%.
For an industry so reliant on stats and numbers, it would be more professional to represent these accurately or your potential buyers are not going to take you seriously.
That said I'd like to know what you've based your 20% fuel saving on? Because that is also a significant number and something people (including myself) would be interested in but I'm now concerned it's another hyped up figure?

But at the end of the day, hot air is just hot air - and in the performance car world, we don't like hot air. It decreases performance and leaves us unhappy.

Yes, up to 40%. That is an average the manufacture puts for the tuning boxes. If the car is making more power because of a timing change, usually leaner, then fuel savings is there. the description says "up to.." but like most people these days, nobody reads. If you are on the throttle the full time, you will not save anything.

All these tuning products coming out are great, in time there'll be much more so lots of options for those interested
Are you people from VividRacing going to also do some actual physical testing/runs of these tunes to also demonstrate the actual real life gains in the vehicles performance, that would be something I think most people would want or need to see
