Revving in neutral
Neutral on manual car
L=mister2d;6561343]Depends. For what reason are you doing this for? If you're reasoning is "the devil made me do it", then you're not too smart.[/QUOTE]
The key is to roll, let go of the gas pedal, push up to Neutral.
Then do your thing and finally when you're happy, LET GO of the pedal so the RPM's drop to normal levels, then switch back into Drive. If you keep revving and switch to drive, you're gonna have a bad time (probably nothing bad at first, but if you keep doing it, things will blow up).
People need to lighten up a bit. This is not a glass trophy on wheels.

i would suggest you keep your revving to stationary affairs or just grow up a bit.
But--But what if you are in your second childhood and Don't want to grow up!!!!
to accomplish what you really want to do, you should switch to manual, keep car in higher than usual rev, and when you down shift and let go of gas, you'll hear the best sounding amg. obviously only do this after break-in period.
I had an old Mercury Capri when I was a kid and I would drop it into gear after revving it in neutral to get it to peel out because it wouldn't do it from a standstill. Not too good for the tranny.

LOL that just might be the Transmission lag from reverse to forward.. speaking of which even though its not a DCT it the transmission had a DCT lag character when i test drove one that other day. The noise from the exhaust when lifting the throttle alone is worth the 70k price tag
