Burmester Sound System
Hey guys, after listening to the burmester in my ED1 and comparing it to my 2014 E350's HK sound system, I feel that the burmester does not sound nearly as good compared to the HK. Is it my car's problem? or is the burmester just inferior?

Burmeister is about quality so it depends on the type of music you like. I like upbeat music with thump and beats (think Black Eye Peas) so while it's good, I wish I had a bit more bass. The equalizer is really not what I expected but overall, its not a bad system. If it helps, my wife loves it.

I liked my ML speaker system in my 2013 gs, it was better balanced than the burmeister. They are still good speakers, but the highs are a bit harsh and lacks bass. I'm not a fan of the front bass tech, I added a 10" sealed JL and getting to those bass leads were a PITA! Anyways, I highly recommend adding a sub to the system, you can never have too much bass

The Burmester is much more superior to the HK system I had in my CLA45. The fidelity and tone is on point with the bass resonating in the cabin rather than rattling half the interior. Big fan of the system and have found that it holds its own versus some of my other custom install projects.

IMHO it is much better than both, HK or even B&O in the 212 and 218 Models.
It's DEFINITELY worth the money.
I am also a musician and HiFi enthusiast ... And can and did compare many OE systems.
Compared to the STD Burmester in the 222/217 it is just missing some of the lower frequencies (around 20-40Hz), as if there would be a cut somewhere on the low-pass filter/crossover, maybe to protect the woofers. Here the S-Class Version (STD Burmester) gives definitely more low-frequency headroom.
In any case, the Burmester HighEnd is the best OE system I have heard by far
