C63s Transmission issue

Hey Guys,

Just got a brand new C63s. Its great. Except it doesn't change gears like my friends c63s. When engaged in sports exhaust in manual his transmissions feels so much like a DCT. You can feel the car engaging with every gear change as it 'pops' into place. His even snaps and crackles at very low rpm (1000-2000).

While mine feels very automatic and similar to the old model. When you change gears there is no feedback at all. Nor does it snap or crackle at low RPM and sounds considerably quieter when driving around in the low rpm range.

My question is, would this be as simple as a TCU or ECU update? Or possible sports exhaust flap issue? Just keen to get your opinions or if anyone else has experience similar. I will be taking it in to dealer when I get the chance.

Thanks.

In what mode is your engine set? The car only shifts hard and pops on downshifts in S+ or race mode.

If you don't get the proper performance in S+ or race mode, then you likely do need a firmware update.

Hey

Yeah it's set in race mode and full open exhaust. Its just very quiet between 1000-3000rpm.

It still pops at around 4000rpm. But there is zero feel or feedback when changing gears. Just like playing a computer game. Im sure thats not how it feels for others driving the same car...

Thanks

could be something with the tcu adaptations....... perhaps check if there is a software update with TCU.... or if they can reset adaptations. (I'm assuming this software adapts like the old versions)

Im hoping its as simple as TCU update. The car is brand new. My friends car definitely up and downshifts more aggressively and a loy louder. It is kinda bugging me.

TCU - question

Please excuse a stupid question - what has the TCU to do with the gearbox or transmission?

Does the car shift more "gingerly" when the car is still within the break-in period of 1000 miles?
