Paint Protection and Repair

Beating myself up about not putting a paint protection film on my car when purchased, dealer never mentioned it and I have never had a car with it so it slipped my mind. Needless to say after 4,000 miles the front fender's and the front of the passenger and Driver door jams on the edge are pretty roughed up from the front tire and the way the fender swoops missing a lot of tire coverage in that area.

Anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get this repaired and protected for the future, can the dealer take care of this kind of work?

Once the paint is damaged; it's near impossible to have a perfect bra installed. The bra will cover up some of the imperfections.

Having the car repaired/paint correction and protective film installed, not sure if I should go with Suntek or Xpel. What is everyone using?

I have XPEL Ultimate and I'm very happy with the results. Nice and smooth finish. Visually you can't even tell it is on there.

GREAT investment for your car

Did you get the whole car covered? What where you charged (if you don't mind me asking).

Im leaning towards this option as well.

I got it installed on the entire bumper, full hood, frontfenders, head lights, rocker panels and trunk strip. It was right around $1500

2015 S550 4matic, 1960 Chevy Impala Conv, (Previously 2002 S500, 2008 S550 4Matic)
In my previous car S550 2008 4matic I had "Venture Shield" for 7 years and it paid for itself. I never had any accidents and the day I traded in for my new S550 4matic the car still looked great. The dealer peeled a little and the paint underneath was like new.

I will be going with XPEL as I heard great reviews about the product. Also from past experience Xpel will not only pay for itself in the long run but will also keep the ding and scratches away. It is money well spent.

OP, can you explain or draw where exactly is it damaged that you think is from the front tires? I am not sure if I understood you. I got the whole front xpel'ed, trunk lip, side view mirror front, and door handle cup, and that's it.

Not sure what everyone really means when they say "rocker panel"...

Representative photo, the fender arch in the red area cuts inward towards the chassis after the horizontal body line thus eliminated tire and debris coverage. The area in yellow has some decent road rash due to this, specifically the edge of the front door takes the brute of the force.

"Anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get this repaired and protected for the future, can the dealer take care of this kind of work?"

My xpel install does NOT cover the door area, time should tell if i'll end up with damage on the door panel or the lower body trim. I don't think there's anything unique to this W205 set up to cause excessive debris damage to the body.... Sorry, but I have to ask, do you drive on rocky roads often? The picture you've posted seems to suggest so.

my B5 Audi S4 had major chips where your red circle is and the same area on the back just before the rear tire. It was due to frequent NJ to Boston to Montreal drives in the winter with snow/salt/ice/etc... I end up installing mud flaps on it...

Picture is not my car, but the up north roads are stoned and oiled often in the summer which I do not exceed more than 10MPH if I have to go down one.

It is in the design of an extended fender car with a wider stance than the original chassis has the fenders are pulled out to cover the wheels but they never achieve full coverage.

i don't think that's the issue, the rocks are probably bouncing off the ground and back into the body. there's also effect of draft that complicate things too. usually, if it is a body design issue, it shows up on the rear, where the front kicks it up, the rear is catching all the flack due to wide body. like a corvette, it comes with guard pre-installed on the rear. lets see how everyone else fairs after 4k miles...

btw, when did you take delivery, 4k already, wow.

Picked up late July, put away early September, so about 5 weeks of driving.

Chips are identical on both sides of the car, not a coincidence.
