Just reporting another low oil message at 550 miles. I'm off tomorrow to pick up a couple quarts ank keep just in case.
As a point of reference I know that my GTR factory fill is actually 1-2 qt less than capacity intentionally. For that car max oil capacity is not recommended for racing, only for normal driving. Case in point, it is possible that mb does not fill these cars to the max at the factory for whatever reasons and that's why low oil message is triggered on and off. Just a thought.

Check your level with the dip stick as mine and others have got the low oil message and the oil was full so it is a sensor fault and not low oil.
They may want it at operating temp. but you do have to give it some time to fully drain back to the crankcase.

Yes I agree. I will do that before adding any amounts. I will report back.

update: the message went away and I didn't add any oil. at 900 miles, it came back tonight. I checked the dipstick and the level with car at op temp was at 75% between the two notches.
Conclusion: the electronic dipstick is too sensitive and wants the level to always be at or just above full. Or its jacked altogether.

Guys I also face the same problem, my car is at 3000miles. I checked the oil level and it seems fine, the message then disappeared once I turned the car on again, it does pop up every couple of weeks. Anyone went to the dealer for the same problem ? And what did they recommend ?
