That is extremely disappointing. The C class is mercedes youngest demographic who is probably most likely to use and most interested in Carplay.

 

The C class is more up market, the base car and entry is not the cla/gla

 

The C Class will make it within the coming months. Sit tight.

 

I hope my March/April delivery will have a chance at CarPlay.

Via a software update in existing cars? Do you have some inside scoop?

 

From what I was told; it's must be installed at a factory.

 

CarPlay sounds super useful!

 

Don't be too excited or disappointed. There will be growing pains for sometime when it finally does come available.

 

So basically if u ordered a car already u will not get it in that car ever?
Kinda wierd that car brands likem mitsubishi and hyundai can get it but not an C class.....

 

Our first GLE's are arriving with it daily. I'm curious to see what all the hype is about. The MY 17 C's will have CarPlay.

Is Android MirrorLink going to make a come back as well? as it got pulled a little while ago. Do you know the reason it was pulled anyway?

 

Maybe they are slow in rolling out Carplay because Carplay will render the multimedia package useless for most users. I for one would not add the multimedia package if I can get Carplay instead. Unless both of which is necessary in the build package then my case is invalid

 

Every vehicle is different. However, what I have been seeing, is that needs to have Command or a vehicle with a Multimedia Package or Command within a Premium 1 Package.

 

CarPlay is a completely independent system, think of it as switching to a video in. It doesn't tie in with COMAND at all. You would use Apple Maps for navigation and not COMAND. This has been the design since I checked out the first demo in NY 2 years ago.

The Canadian order guides show the package as Smartphone integration, and notes that it comes with both CarPlay and Mirrorlink. I'll get a screen cap when I'm near my desktop.

All the Canadian CarPlay integrations require COMAND. What a waste of money.

 

I see Ford advertise Carplay on their Chevy Malibu everyday on television and the world leading luxury car manufacturer can't even manage to integrate that into a vehicle 3 times the cost!? I think MB is just feeding on the consumers, they're limiting technology to suck more money out of their customers. Take a look at the outdated features in the mbrace that warrants a $100 monthly fee, for something we can tell Siri to do and quicker

God i would like to know this, asked dealer and he gave me a answer not related to my question as usual.

On the CLA in the US; you can get it as a 868 - Smartphone Integration as a stand alone option for $350. If you order a Multimedia Package in the US with it; the option code is 32C on certain cars. On the C in the US; i do not believe it will be available to MY 17.

 

Sure, it's completely independent, but it doesn't have to operate to the user as two disparate systems. COMAND could allow input from both sources to play with one source having a higher priority. Think of it as having your NAV audio output take over briefly while you're playing music from your mobile device. This is not rocket science for the engineers. It's all about how much time they are willing to spend on integration efforts.

 

Heard today that the C may not have Carplay until the Facelift. That applies to the C Sedan, Coupe, & Convertible. So the Sedan wouldn't be until MY 18.

Seems easy enough to implement on the CLA I'm surprised they are choosing to go this route with the C. Any clue as to why? I thought the C205 would end up getting it before the sedan.
