C63S Coupe Edition 1
Hi,
New here. I'm looking to buy a new car sometime in 2016, and I'm leaning heavily towards buying a C63S Coupe Edition 1 when they're released.
So, I need some information from those that ordered the Edition 1 Sedans. How were the Edition 1s sold for the sedan? Was there an option for adding an Edition 1 package to your C63S order? If so, how long was the package available for order? (Basically, how was its availability limited? By # sold? Or by date?) How much was the package? And last, but not least, how soon before the sedans went on sale were you able to place your order?
Thank you very much ahead of time for any information you're able to provide!

Unless I'm mistaken, only one Edition 1 will be sold per dealership in America. Also, my closest dealership already had someone put money down, despite it not yet being ready to order, but YMMV on that.

The ED1 is technically an order code but other than a few specific touches (red carbon-fiber center console, stickers, wheels) its a fully optioned-out C63S. The only options as I recall were exterior color and CCB.
On the ordering system the ED1 is not an upgrade to a C63S, its actually a different car in their system called C63P (Premium, I was told).
The ED1 Coupe will be a huge hit with huge markups so get your order in now and put money down without going over msrp.

You are mistaken, when I picked mine up they had one already claimed by a buyer and another one (mine) was just sitting there unclaimed until I grabbed her. It was luck... or somebody cancelled their order.

If it is similar to the E class, E63P was the system code for the E63S.
When you check a build sheet for a GTS edition 1 is actually an option like P98 code is the black series option.
I would not be surprised if C63P is just the system code for the C63S whether ed1 or not

I wonder what the code is for a C63S then?

On the vin decoder it shows C63P
On my dealer work order for a oil and diff change it shows C63/P
I do not have a ED1

Interestingly, the red pepper carbon interior trim, edition 1 wheels, and and red diamond stitching have their own, separate factory option codes.

Over here, the Edition 1 Motorsport is an option that you can tick. The standard ED1 comes with graphite decals and be configured in any exterior colour, ticking the ED1 motorsport package on top of that gives you the magno selenite, yellow decals and unique rims from the picture
