AMG driving Academy at Road Atlanta

I am going to Road Atlanta for the AMG driving experience (beginners) on May 12 which I received with the purchase of my car. Is anybody else on this forum going?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Have fun at Road Atlanta. I might try that track next.

I'm going on October 21st to Leguna Seca.

I gave my ADA day to my wife, who's going to Laguna Seca on the 21st as well.

I went to ADA on my previous AMG purchase.

She will enjoy LS and the cork screw.

I did, hah. It was raining on my day too, so blasting the hill and coming down the corkscrew in an SLS was... hair-raising.

Also gave me extreme respect for MB's stability/traction control. There was little I could do to really throw the car off balance. Even on a wet track.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread..

But how was it? Seems like a few people went, but nothing after

I'm seriously considering attending one of the basic classes this year.
Just purchased my first AMG recently and looking forward to seeing what it can do.

If you purchased it new, you should get a free Basic course day. It's absolutely, totally worth taking advantage of; I'm surprised there aren't more people participating in ADA; so many wasted free slots.

If you purchased your AMG used, then yeah, $2k is harder to swallow. In all honesty, I think it's worth it based on the amount of track time you get, with the vehicles you get to drive, and someone else paying for the tires/fuel/wear-and-tear.

Agree with vaelin - it was worth it in every way...especially considering it was free! One of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of my life.

I purchased the vehicle used, so I will be coming out of pocket.. but this is exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks guys!

Any advice/opinions regarding track selection? Right now it's a toss up between Atlanta and LS.
Atlanta is closer to me, but that corkscrew is calling my name!

(Wouldn't mind checking out COTA in the future either)

Guys, is the basic course available with a C43 by any chance? I got mine new a few weeks ago, but my SA did not mention anything about this.

The rules on the Driving Academy web site say that the C450 is excluded so you are probably out of luck unless they change it with the C43.
It is worth the price so if they don't give it to you free pay and go anyway.

If you've never driven Laguna Seca, it's worth doing at least once, to at least say you've done it. That said, since Atlanta is closer, you might have more opportunities in the future as well to go do track time at RA.

I think difficulty-wise, they're both about the same.

“2017 C43 does qualify! We’ve recently just added those models to our AMG Purchase Reward program.” And even 2016 C450 DOES qualify.. I got a free admission based on my purchase of C450. Going to use C43 for the next year

Holy crap. I'm glad I found this forum. I was under the impression C43 did not qualify, but it looks like it does.
