This seems to be a de - striped Edition 1 in Brilliant Blue. I originally ordered the car in Blue myself and switched to Silver because I felt Brilliant Blue is a bit too dark. I still think I was right but the car still looks awesome in Blue!

Mercedes/AMG need to communicate more. I assume you have had absolutely no explanation as to why your car is just sat there?

Hmmm.. No. Just makes me think we are all in the same boat (literally). If I was getting a HUD I wouldn't mind waiting longer... but as it stands I could end up waiting until they become readily available which would be really annoying. If it gets to that stage (maybe 4 weeks from now) I will probably cancel my order.

I had a BMW M6 some years ago that arrived (late), but was then put on a release hold from the dealer due to a BMW bulletin on oil pumps. Brand new car sat at the dealer for another 3 weeks before BMW resolved, supplied new parts and dealer fitted them.
The joys!

There was a bulletin some weeks ago about production delays, I believe that initially played a part. There has now been another bulletin on possible further 2 week delays, but its non specific about whether it's production or transit related. Or they have an issue with a part, and won't release built cars until its resolved.

I've only been told of a one week delay so far. But when my car entered production the status went from 8th August (was originally 1st August) to blank. The dealer has said this is normal when they enter production.

Had the opportunity to finally test out the coupe yesterday.
The car has exceeded all my expectations and more...
After having the sedan for almost a year I thought I'd share my key points.
1) The car feels and drives much better than the sedan - better suspension/traction/ throttle response.
2) The car is definitely a lot louder in the cabin.
3) The inside feels smaller because the roof slants down (driver/passenger).
4) The car feels much faster and more stuck to the road.
5) Front of the car looks much better as the coupe has bigger flared wheel arches.
6) The new 19/20 wheels look much better.
7) Finally, I can't wait to get mine now... It is currently on the ship

My car entered production back on the 11th July approx. what's the usual build time before then getting onto a boat?
When did your build start? Hopefully getting another update over the next few days and just trying to figure out where it might be sitting.

Thanks for the review - very reassuring.
I recently drove a C63s wagon and have the following comments:
1. It was fast, very fast. Noticebly faster than some tuned BMWs with DCT I've driven. Traction seemed decent too.
2. The MCT was suprisingly responsive. It had faster changes than my current BMW Getrag DCT box. Very satisfying.
3. The ride was not particularly good. It felt like the car picked up every imperfection on the road. The feeling was like a car with runflats. Even in comfort mode. My current coupe with 45 profiles has much better ride (I'd didnt expect there to be such a massive difference in ride quality even though its a C63.....its still a Benz!).
4. The Burmester stereo was not particularly impressive even after fiddling with the settings. It's worse than BMW Professional and that's saying something. And defintely worse than the HK in my C204. I do hope the sound is improved in the coupe!
5. The steering felt numb on comfort. As a driver I felt disconnected which didnt leave me satisfied. Did sharpen up with sport mode etc but still not quite satisfied. Again I understand this is improved in the coupe.
6. The wagon did leave me feeling that I wanted to hear more sound - felt a bit isolated from the action - so good to hear the coupe is more vocal!
7. Interior quality is far superior to the previous generation. Seating position great. However would prefer a proper gearstick!
8. Concerned about Alcantara longevity on the steering wheel. Anyone with a non-coupe have any input?
I am really hoping the coupe will give me an all-round sportier impression but still maintain above average ride quality in comfort.

Great feedback Sanch. Right in line with what I thought.

I haven't seen any discussion about the front splitter. It is on some pics and not others and I don't see anything in the ordering guide. Is it standard on the ED1 cars only or is it an option on any other orders?
