C63S Personality Ruined at Service

My C63S had its 20000 kilometre service today, after driving it in Sport + post service there is a massive decrease in the engine and transmission aggression, also exhaust volume is greatly reduced with basically no crackle on down shifts any more. If sitting still and I change from Comfort to Sport+ there is practically zero change in volume of the exhaust. When moving, if you change from Comfort to Sport + there is next to no change in revs, no growl, no downshift, no nothing. It still accelerates ok in Sport+ but doesn't have that "I am ready to kill someone" presence it used to and hardly any exhaust sound or crackle.

There used to be a MAJOR change in the cars character when changing from Comfort to Sport+, it used to instantly downshift, get incredibly louder, crackle, excite, engage and it now feels, well, limp. It now has no personality.

If the car drove like this in Sport + before, I never would have purchased it.

I have driven around ten C63S's and none have felt like this.

They said it was just a standard service with nothing extra, does anyone have any ideas as to what they could have done wrong?

My wife picked the car up with no invoice and I only had a chance to drive 6pm Friday with a long weekend till Tuesday so I can't get answers from the dealer for four days.

I am guessing they did a software update perhaps but would that destroy the exhaust note too?

There was someone else on here mentioning their C450 snap crackle & pop disappeared after some time. It could have been related to a service event too if I remember correctly - I'll try to find the thread.

Thanks for the links, i have tried the suggestion in the link referring to always driving in comfort mode and only switching to Sport + for extremely spirited driving.

The cars behaviour has definitely improved in Sport + over about a week of this method and the snap, crackle, pop has mostly returned to normal. The car seems to of "learned" how I want it to behave in Sport + again.

I would like to discover how this "performance amnesia" started instantaneously after service, I still have to pick up my invoice and have a discussion with the service team to try and understand the change.

Most likely there was an update for the ME and it reset the adaptations, there's no way to update without resetting, so if they were instructed to do the update they have no choice.
