Ordering a 2017 car: What kind of deals are you getting?
Hello,
I thought I was always going to get a C7 vette, until I started reading about the W205 C63s, once I drove them back to back, it was clear which car I wanted. I'm wanting to order a 2017 C63S, haven't decided between coupe or sedan but leaning sedan), and wanted to know what kind of deals people were getting on custom ordered cars? The way I see it, dealer doesn't pay lot fees and it's a guaranteed sale which helps allocations, so I don't buy the "don't offer discounts on ordered cars" line. I'm working with a dealer now, who started at 1000 off MSRP, but I asked them to seriously re-evaluate because I'm eager to place an order ASAP. I haven't heard back. Also what dealer and where you are located. I'm in Houston and as far as I can tell I have 4 dealers to negotiate with, which is what I plan on doing, but it would be helpful to see what others have been able to do both on the coupe and sedan for 2017. Thanks.

Getting 16%+ off MSRP on a lot C450 or about 11-13% off MSRP on a C43 order.
Anything 10% or less off is a bad deal.
Theoretically, they should be more inclined to discount an ordered vehicle since they will pay $0 in insurance/fees as it won't be sitting parked on a lot at all. It can be tricky right now though since the official C43 pricing guides aren't yet out.

For the new C63S coupe, I was only able to get agreement on 1% off MSRP upon order. I worked with 2 large dealerships in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. My research told me not to expect much if anything off MSRP for a new model ordered pre-production with limited dealer allocations and seemingly high early demand.

Your theory is flawed as well, as dealers don't incur costs on new cars on a floor plan until 60-90 days, so they are more "inclined" to discount cars already in stock.....

If you want the best guaranteed discount, go with European delivery (5% off C43/C63, and up to 7% max on standard models). Even if you could somehow combine that with a fleet discount (which you can't with ED), you still wouldn't be anywhere near 10%+.
For what it's worth, I'm getting a little under 8% discount on my ED C63 S Coupe when you combine the ED savings, a few additional discounts (not available to most people), and the waived destination and shipping fee. That's about as good as it gets for a brand new, unreleased AMG.

I'm in Seattle and ordered my c63s sedan. I got 3% off whatever the total price is plus 300$ to cover the diff service that I refused to pay for. One place offered me a slightly better deal but they had bad customer service and tried to screw me on my trade. Hope that helps.

The first production run of a new Model Year of C63 usually get 3-5% off from what I see. It depends on where your dealership is located though. If there's a lot of dealerships in the area, they'll be more inclined to give a larger discount.

I got 10% off + Fleet on a C43 Coupe and ordered on day 1, but that was under a unique situation with some strong negotiation on my part and a lot of good luck. All else equal, I'd target 7% and be more than happy to settle at 5%.

It's just so dealer dependent ... Hard to say what is a good percentage off
Are you willing to buy out of state and have it shipped?

There's multiple dealerships in the Los Angeles area, and they're all very competitive. To the point where, even when I live the Bay Area, I usually choose to fly down there to get a better deal and drive back up.
The last time I did this, I got about 4% off MSRP, and they flew me and my wife down, and covered one night hotel costs. When we got there, they picked us up at LAX (in a CLS) and bought us lunch while we waited at the dealership.
This was W.I. Simonson in Santa Monica.
NOTE: My C63S was purchased locally (Stevens Creek MB). It was a 2015 that was still on the lot at the beginning of 2016. I got 13k off MSRP of 95k.

I ordered my 2016 in December and got $8k off MSRP. I was pretty content with the deal, though seems perhaps others have gotten greater discounts on leftover 2015's and/or cars sitting on lots for some time.

thanks both guys above. I'm starting to think that rather than order a car for october delivery maybe I should buy a 2016 in october and try to get a killer deal. But then you won't get all the options / colors. Hmmm.

After reading the review from EVO this past week i am 100% for the AMG C63S! Just ordered a Brilliant Blue C63S coupe at MSRP: $83900, and the final price they quoted me so far is $80550 which equals to 4% off. @NYC according to my sales which sold me the last 5 cars in the past 15 years and he says thats the best he can offer for an ordered car.... Please advice so when my car arrives in end of september i have more to attack for better deal thanks in advance, MBworld members are amazing lolzzzz

1. 2017 model when it's much easier to negotiate on a 2016
2. Harder to negotiate on the C63 / C63S due to an artificial barrier of exclusivity
3. Already negotiated the numbers, they know you won't walk away so don't expect these to change
I'll let the other C63S 2017 orderer's chime in... Strictly from a timing perspective, it is not the best position to be in right now to get a great deal ordering one of those.
Did you shop other dealerships at all ? What about fees ? Doc fees/signing, interest # if applicable, any other incentives you can use? If you didn't get #s on these they could be inflated later on when the car is delivered.

4% off is not great compared to the 10-16% people are getting on outgoing 2016 models, but you have three things working against you on this transaction:
1. 2017 model when it's much easier to negotiate on a 2016
2. Harder to negotiate on the C63 / C63S due to an artificial barrier of exclusivity
3. Already negotiated the numbers, they know you won't walk away so don't expect these to change

1. Interest rate they said its the MBFS rate at the time which right now is 2.99% according to my sales.
2. Fees i remember was around $600 as always when i picked up the cars for registration, plates, and dealership fees.
3. I work for AT&T so we have a $500 fleet discount at the time of pick up and also i am working on making him honor the $500 coupon code i got from MBUSA for visiting the NYC autoshow.
Yeah i tried to get him to accept 6% off as i seen on the site other people gotten at other dealerships, but his issues was that the AMG cars are build to order mostly and the GM doesnt give any deeper discounts until the car arrives. My goal is to get him to kick me another $1500 off lolzz

To be honest, especially with a dealership which you've bought multiple cars from, it sounds like you are in a decent position. Especially since you have these fees (interest, registration, doc fee) at least written down somewhere.
At the end of the day -- You really need to 'pay to play' when you are dealing with ordering the specialty models, very similar #s to ordering late-model M cars from BMW. 4-6 % is ideal and better than a lot of folks who just waltz in and get a few bucks off MSRP and call it a day.
So overall you are doing a great job especially with the fleet discount (which could get better!) make sure you ask the fleet team every month until delivery @ fleetoperations@mbusa.com, they reply quickly. For example, the 2016 C Sedan discount went up $300 from $2000 to $2300 in June for some.
Congrats on your selection, I think the hardest part as we age, or at least for me anyway, is to allow myself to splurge on a brand new model whether it be an AMG, M, etc. gotta weigh that emotional prowess vs. the checkbook. From the way you are talking about it you seem to be fairly vested in the purchase which is great and it will definitely be worth it when you see that shiny blue in person!

I'm waiting for the HUD to be available again. This is my first time buying a car as i'm 23. Can you guys give me some tips on getting 4-6% off the mrsp for the c63s coupe?. I'm willing to order late 2016 to get a better deal but I'm clueless in negotiating.
I did configure the coupe on mbusa and the total is 90k.

Placed my order today. Selenite Metallic for now, delivery in November. All 4 dealerships in town could order the car, but only one would discount. They offered 2k off and I took it. Not the best deal for sure but it seems like that's what I could get around here at this time so I went with it. I'll option it out next week but probably premium 3, AMG exhaust, parktronic.
