$1499 TUNE
Hopefully sometime soon
Would you guys post these instructions on how to remove/access the ECU without taking off the front end like in these pics? I think it would incentivize many people that are on the fence about whether or not to go ECU flash or piggyback tune.
I always prefer an ECU tune, but we've heard it's very difficult to remove it for flashing -- if we can access the ECU easily, it might be less of a hassle than cutting up our hands while fiddling with piggyback connectors!
When taking in for routine service, you can request for them not to update your software (which will flash over our tune). If it is for warranty work, I would recommend shipping the ecu back here for reflashing back to stock before going into the dealer.
Thanks
how do the dealer flash the ecu then? My guess is they do not need to remove the ecu and flash it like you tuners do. So my question is, would you send me the tune as file for the dealer to flash for me (assume that i can persuade a dealer to do it for me)?
The dealer would not be able to use this since the files and decryption are done at a higher level then the dealer.
Once someone cracks the encryption between the port and he ecu we will finally have tune via obd2 options. But it's basically military grade stuff so it's not easy to crack.
