W205 Sedan harsh suspension
Hey Guys,
I've got a new W205 C63S sedan.
I have come to the conclusion and in my opinion I feel the standard suspension is too harsh for day to day driving.
does anyone know of a fix being different springs? or any other fix to make the ride more forgiving on bumpier roads?
Cheers

Hey Jlux,
I'm picking my C63S Coupe up tomorrow, and my only real concern is the quality of the ride. Considering they say the coupe rides better than the sedan, I can only imagine how hard the ride is for you.
I'm also a daily driver so would be interested to hear from any suspension suppliers.
My only thought at this stage is that if it gets too much maybe look at some coilovers (maybe KW?). My concern is that I've had some KW coilovers before and while they were comfortable, they were really noisy.
Let's hope we get some options soon.
Cheers,
Scar

Yes its hash, but I also test drove the M3 and M4 and they are worse. I had BMW 335 to trade in. Couldn't bring myself to get the M4 I had was leaning to. Even worked out a deal and couldn't pull the trigger on it though it was a lot cheaper and I really wanted to like it. Driving in town on a daily basis the C63S is so much better. I wish it was a tad softer too, but it is what it is. Its not horrible or really bad.

Check the tire pressure.
The dealer before delivering the car must (they have no choice) set the tire pressure to 48 lbs because the car will possibly be driven to the maximum speed. However like most of us you will never go to this max speed unless you go on the track.
Consequently, the tire pressure can be reduced depending on the anticipated maximum speed ( the guideline to do so is on the back of the gas door). I reduced mine to 38 lbs and it makes a substantial difference.

+1. You could also get all season tires which will help, although the car won't handle and accelerate as well.

Swapping out the runflats for good std tires like MPSS will improve ride quality and handling. You'll need to add some means of flat repair though since you won't have a spare. Tire plug kit, mini compressor, and a can of fix a flat, and you will be good to go.

The C63S comes with summer tires --not run flats and it has a slime kit and compressor in the trunk.

These cars have a very firm ride BUT make sure you always check the tire pressure after coming from the dealer as they have to put the pressure to 48 lbs. in CA and It will ride like a brick.
Also don't look at the pressure readings on the drivers door post as that is NOT the correct pressure but the one to keep the EPA happy. go behind the fuel door. Normal driving is 38 front and 33 rear.

I had the AS3 Mich. On a Lexus and liked them a lot but never pushed them to the limit.

Agree that lower tire pressure is key...not only for comfort, but reducing the pressure also eliminated a dash rattle I had. I run cold pressures of 37 front and 40 rear.
