C63S Coupe US-Spec Rear Turn Signal
Is it silly that I'm seriously considering cancelling my order?

The amber LEDs just look cleaner and feel safer than reusing the brake lights as turn signals. How many times have you mixed up someones rear brakes and their rear turn signals when they're set up like this? It's a common issue, i find. Plus now the white area below the brakes are useless.
I'm hoping it's easy to remove, but then I worry about being able to sell it afterward.. I doubt buyers would be happy with a car that violates USDOT laws.
The whole purpose of these bumperettes (do yourself a favor and Google "bumperettes") is to reduce the amount of damage in 5 MPH or under collisions. The bumperettes have steel reinforcement behind them, so perhaps you could cut that off the crash bar and then buy/paint/install a Euro-spec rear bumper?

google "red rear turn signals look like brakes" if you want even more proof.
Lots of hate in this thread. No need to hurl insults when I'm just asking what other people think of the US spec.. It's quite a bit different from the Euro version. There's so little info on the coupe out there, I'm just trying to generate a discussion.
Maybe not you, but I'm not the only one:

Yeah, I know what a bumperette is. My plan was to swap it out with a Euro bumper but if I ever needed to sell the car, it may not sell so well since it violates USDOT.

And I'm certainly not denying the existence of cases in which some people might confuse a brake light for a turn signal... but at the same time, there are also people who confuse the brake pedal with the gas (see Audi and Toyota). If this seriously concerns you, you probably shouldn't be looking into buying a car of this type (ignore the fact that there are tons of safety features standard on this car that would otherwise cost extra with other brands).
The bumperettes on the AMG GTS are pretty bad as well...
A few Porsche's to add to the mix...

I'm sure there would be a ton of interest in a "bumperette delete kit" for the Coupe - if only it didn't involve cutting off bumper supports. Don't forget that for those of you who live in areas where bumpers are used just as their name is intended, it makes for a very cheap respray vs an entire bumper/exhaust/diffuser/tips replacement which would cost thousands.
