Breaking in - Motoman technique???
Just wondering about the mindset here and people's thoughts????
If you aren't familiar with it, basically it's loading the engine immediately, several times, and using engine breaking during the first 50-100 miles to seat the rings. This done repeatedly and then an oil change at 1250 miles or so...

Of course many people just go wide open throttle the moment they get the car, but with all the break-in engine lubricants from a fresh engine and fluids from the rear diff, I personally would stick with AMG's recommendations (don't exceed 4500 RPM, don't use the kickdown, don't go above certain MPH - 80 I believe).
Lots of debate on this topic regardless of manufacturer, but I'm conservative with this sort of stuff - and believe me, there is nothing more I'd rather do than romp my Coupe down the autobahn and amazing roads in Switzerland when I pick it up this fall (I'll be covering a little over 600 miles through Europe over a week).
