W205 Facelift

The new 9spd MCT alone will make a very noticeable difference.
I've driven the new E63S and compared with the current 7spd MCT and discounting the 4matic plus set up with won't feature on the C, this new 9 spd shifts quicker and smoother.
With better/more ratios it should definitely provide better acceleration under full throttle and better efficiency when coasting even without a power bump

Very, very nice !!!
Looks like they've decided to adopt the new "53" line features on the 205 C 43 platform and not wait till the new 206, the rounded tail pipe ends look awesome.
AFAIK the 206 series will delete the 43 nameplate and get the 53 nameplate along with the new IL6 hybrid.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with the 63 and if the V8 will remain in the future C Class AMG's.

Wow finally they got rid of those horrible exhaust tips on the pre-LCI C43. Was not a fan of them at all. The new quad exhaust looks so much better. And love the taillights!
Can’t wait to see a LCI C63s sedan!

Agreed, I like those rounded exhaust tips. Looks better than the “almost trying to be” 63 AMG trapezoid tips they hadn’t before.
I hope Mercedes sticks with the 4.0L V8 for the W206 and adds a 48 volt system with electric boost. They could even downsize to a 3.9L if we can get electric torque fill 😛
The new 53’s are going to be really interesting with that I6 and electric motor.

In addition to the exhaust tips which are a definite improvement and as are the taillights, the rear wheel arches finally look flared enough. Great work in that regard. The vehicle looks stunning.

The rear quarter panel and fenders look the same to me as before on the LCI C43. Hopefully the LCI C63S Sedan updates to the E63S rear end like with the Coupe. The Sedan has always been at a disadvantage because of how undertired it is compared to the wider track and rear end on the Coupe.

The new rounded style is only for the new 43 and 53 AMG's. The 63's will continue to have the classic trapezoidal quad exhaust tips like we currently have. I think this was a move on Mercedes-AMG's part to better differentiate between the new semi-AMG models and the full blown AMG 63 (and upcoming 73) models.

Don't quote me on this but I think the 73 models will be replacing the 65 models with the TT V8 and the new hybrid system going the GT car. Pretty sure the V12's are dead based on changing environmental standards mostly in China which is one of their biggest markets as well as US and Europe.

New trademark submitted by car maker suggests performance division may expand its offering, including plans for a S 73 and G 73Mercedes-AMG is hatching a plan to offer even more powerful versions of its S-Class, GLS SUV and recently launched G-wagen, it has been revealed.
According to a patent, submitted to the European Union Patent and Trademark Office by parent company Daimler, the German car maker's high-performance division has trademarked the use of the 'S 73', 'GLS 73' and 'G 73' for future use in European markets.
This has led to wild speculation AMG is readying an all-new powertrain that will offer unprecedented levels of output.
It's not known whether the car maker plans to overhaul the old M275 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 or to offer a high-output version of its current M178 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8.
It's the latter option that seems most likely, with the car maker expected to add a pair of larger turbos and intercoolers and its 48-volt mild hybrid technology. But some suggest to get such high-power outputs the range-topping engine could rely on a plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Just fueling the speculation fire!!

I'm looking forward to next Gen - C model. I'll probably keep mine until then. No reason to get a 19' or 20' in my opinion.

I was planning on replacing my coupe with (dare I say on this forum) the new 911 (992). It's set to be launched later this year.
But I think I might need to just get another AMG (new Gen) making it my 3rd

It will be a well worth wait in that case... looking forward to seeing what they have in store.

The new 73's will be combination of V8 and electric EQ power motors, unlike 53 which will be only electric spooled turbo and small infill 48V system.
AWD looks certain to feature or at least be offered as an option on all the next gen C class AMG variants, as it looks certain BMW have gone that way for their new next gen M3/M4.

I haven't read or seen anything official from MB/AMG themselves but there are a few magazine articles I've read which state the post mid life upgraded C63 will have both chassis and suspension mods/tweaks for better ride, handling and traction, the focus being on the rear end hopefully that's what eventuates.

A little more info from this article stating significant updates to the mid life update C Class.
What's interesting here is the mention of twin scroll turbos for the C63 variant, this is about the fourth source I've read that have stated this and if that's what is actually going to eventuate there's no doubt it'll be the same units and manifold assemblies used on the E63's engine with a lower state of tune.
Final spec and info on the updated C63 should be out in the next 1-2 months or earlier
