Sport+ and manual settings for me. Best way to get to know the car and enjoy it I reckon.

As much as I'd like to claim to have big ***** (in terms of driving), it's really not the case. The c63s isn't a difficult car to drive hard. With the esc in sport mode you can poke it with a stick without it biting you. Even in wet conditions.

I'm similar. I'm usually in my individual mode with the engine set to race, comfort suspension, manual transmission, ESP in sport, and exhaust in sport+. If I'm on the highway using cruise control I'll put it in comfort mode and the car will basically drive itself.

When in individial mode, I downshift frequently and early, too...

I think the better question here: is there "really" anyone not driving around MOST OF THE TIME in S+ or race????

I used to strictly drive in the S+ mode, but now that I passed the break-in period, it's strictly Race 🏁 mode for me. The exhaust note is WAY better, it's addicting. We'll see how long those tires last. On that note, anyone who has not tracked the car who has replaced their tires yet? How many miles did you have on them?

I managed to get 12K miles out of the stock rear tires (Dunlop) and probably had another 4K or 5K left on the fronts.

I'm more aggressive than the average driver, but by no means do I abuse my car or drive it what most would consider to be hard. The car has never seen a track day. The car is my daily driver, and I probably do about 75% city / 25% highway miles.

,
I drive in manual because I want to be able to control the shifting for even more noise .

I wouldn't worry about what other people think. My assumption is most people won't care unless you're doing something inconsiderate like rev bombing a cyclist or down a quiet residential neighborhood during sleeping hours.

Hate to sound like an amateur, but does race mode shift gears? And if so what RPM?

If you are in race and auto it does shift for you but almost at red line. You can of course pull the paddle early if wanted as I do most of the time in town in race. the very best is race and manual.

So is it recommended not to drive in Sport+ mode before you've hit the 1,000-mile mark?

In S+ mode, the vehicle pulls away on first gear according to the manual. Does that mean I must use the up paddle to get the car moving?

what???
Just don't over rev for a while.
In C it starts in 2nd and in the others it starts in 1st.
You don't need to shift with paddles unless you are in manual mode.

Sorry I didn't word my question right--it even confuses me when I re-read it. But thanks for answering it anyway.

so as a 50-something business owner you've lost all desire to have awesomeness and fun in your life with great sounding cars?!? That's not right, ENJOY IT!

This thread motivated me to register. As a 50 something CFO, I am in Sport + whenever I can be. I especially like the stretch of road before getting to the street I live on. Once I get to my street, I switch to comfort, but any neighbor who is outside knows who's coming and always laughs and wave. What a car!
