Noise coming from the roof

I have also the same - I took the back parking sensor out (it is fixed to the roofing with clams both long sides), but it was not that. Irritating noise, somewhere from the roof, very difficult to locate.

It's not the roof... it's most likely the 3rd brake light on the shelf.. I thought mine was the roof also back there but it wasn't

I will also check the brake light now.

Did it - added a couple of felt pads - however I do not think it is the brake light.

After banging a couple of times the shelf behind back seats - same irritating noise. I found the source - it is the right side (in my case) plastic cover of the childrens' seat fixation point. It vibrates and makes this strange sound. After a couple of felt-pads for both sides, it is silent now. Will test during the week-end whether I succeeded to eliminate the noise.

You were right - still have the rattle. I took half-off the cover of the B-pillar - nothing inside which could cause the rattle. Lowered down the right seat to eliminate that source. Opened/closed to sunroof - no change. Opened/closed sunroof's sunblind - no change. noise comes from somewhere near the right B-pillar - roof or upper part of the doors (rear door speakers?). I have done all I can - will visit the dealer next week.

Roof rattle maybe due to loose exterior roof line trim.

How does greasing a stabilizer bar under the car (I take it the one under car?) stop the creaking in sun roof ?????????

noise coming from the roof

Visited today MB dealer - they found that the rattling noise comes from inside the rear right door. Will visit the dealer next Wednesday again - they will open the rear right door to see what is rattling inside.

Eureka!

The MB manger sat in the back while I drove around the block. He immediately identified the source of the problem- a loose tab on the headliner. He pointed the exact spot and demonstrated the noise. What a relief. My vehicle will be ready tomorrow.

Hope y'all find this helpful.
