Not an Owner yet but.....

Went to test drive a c63s the other day and absolutely loved it. Even though I am basically a manual transmission kind of guy, I think I can get to love this car. Question though is 2 fold: 1. The dealer is offering me his 97,000 car at 89,000 because of options like carbon brakes or what ever which I told him I would probably never track the car so I didn't car about the option. 2. Should I sell my Shelby GT 350? I know different cars but was wondering the thoughts of people that own the car. By the way a 2017 Corvette Collectors edition was offered to me also at a little bit less of a discount. All opinions are welcome. Thanks

You have a Shelby GT 350. With a hand-built flat-plane crank Voodoo V8. You can't get rid of that car. Definitely not for a Corvette. For a C63s, maybe, but as special as the C63s is, it's not gonna be a collectors car.

Your discount of 8% or so is not bad, but $89k is still too much IMO for a c63s. May as well custom order exactly what you want and wait a couple months. You probably won't get 8% off, but you'll walk out of the dealer paying less overall.

True but away from the engine which does sound glorious a lot of plastic and shoddy interior quality. Also a collectors car it may be in the future but I don't think I would own it long enough anyway.

What would you use the c63 for. If you would drive it the majority of the time, I would get it over the mustang. Overall a better daily driver experience. If it is a second occasional fun car, I'd keep the mustang. It seems the depreciation will be less with the mustang in the long run.

In the winter would probably drive the SUV more. But in good weather would drive it most of the time.

I was near replacing my 2012 Grand Sport Corvette with a new Z06 ... then I drove the C63S, and realized pretty damn quick I am so ready for a something more sophisticated, with an interior you actually cant wait to get into each day, and mechanics/technology that is in a totally different league. It was a no brainer. Also, the C7 is going to be a totally forgotten generation of Corvette. Its depreciation is god awful, dealers cant give them away. Obviously the Z06 is a slightly different story, a great bang for your buck, but is still all plastic and not a great daily driver. The new mid engine C8 will be out in the next 3 years as well that will just make the C7 even more forgettable. C63S all the way.

Buy the car you want and enjoy it. They all mostly depreciate, badly, worse, awfully, terribly (put whatever adjective here to describe the degree of badness). Only a basic Toyota Collora, A prius, A Chezy Cruz type cars make any real sense, the rest of the cars we buy are all emotional buys that have no financial sense. Life is short, just go out buy what you want.

True. But then my emotional side of me would have to look at a 911.
