I never contacted a dealership about it myself. I did not feel comfortable inquiring. I was given the information from a few different tuners that claimed they had a few clients who had second ECUs. I guess there may be a few dealerships who may break the rules.

This seems somewhat counterintuitive if you're trying to make the ECU appear untampered with.

The W205/C205 got shafted with ECU placement. The AMG GT and the new E63 both have their ECU's in plain site on the top of the engine bay:
