C63s coupe finally here - but...

Been waiting 4 plus months for my C63s coupe I ordered... finally - at the dealer now! (got to see it today)... but they forgot to order the ventilated seats. Fully loaded except for performance seats (which you couldn't get ventilated) Not sure I want now - a bit salty after the long wait and not getting what I ordered. Suppose to pick up tomorrow after final detailing. Sure sounded nice though! Was looking forward to running it against my wife's M4... hmmm - should I suck it up and take home (would have to be at a substantial discount), reorder again or just order a new M6?

Get a 10k discount or order another one ... not necessarily order another one, but be ready to walk away if you don't get a significant discount.

Your not going to get a $10k discount for the vent seats.
They are nice but many can't get it with the performance seats and we live thru it.
They should give a nice discount-I don't know how much you got off already so hard to say. You will love the car even without them--don't walk but make them think you will.

I'd be pissed. More pissed about this than if I didn't have folding mirrors or something, especially if it was the sole reason you didn't get performance seats.

MB is *****ing people with these cars that aren't spec'd as ordered. As much as I would want the 63 tomorrow, I'd tell them to fly a kite and order one as you want it. Maybe if people stop putting up with MB's crap they'll straighten out.

the ventilated seats are really nice, tough call. I live in houston so it was a must have option for me, keep in mind they are ventilated not cooled so they dont do that much.

Aaaa... retrofit? Would that be possible?

When I said "ready to walk away" I did not mean "don't buy the car", just ready to walk away to get a good rebate. At the same time they might have someone lined up to purchase it if you walk.

I feel for you. Negotiate for replacement seats at no cost.

Yes a bit pissed - I specifically went with the standard sport seats as that was the only option the ventilated would work on. Will wait to hear what the excuse was as to why it's missing. Salesman is checking into it now. Not sure I even want at this point after the long wait... leaning more and more towards that M6 now. Mercedes will have to pull a rabbit out if they want to retain me as a customer now.

What discount did you initially get on the car?

I could only squeeze a 3.25% discount out of them initially on this one. Expecting a call soon from them this morning, will see what they say now. I already told my salesman yesterday I hope I don't have to wait another 4 months to get what I ordered. So he knows I'm ready to walk...

Sorry to hear- I know to some that's a small mistake but you ORDERED the car so it should be done right. I would work out a discount with the GM depending on how long you think you will keep the car. I don't keep cars too long so that's the route I would take vs rejecting the car in general. I think they will work you for these reasons: that is one expensive coupe and AMG coupes don't maintain their value. It will be a harder one to move if they leave it on their lot albeit the Coupes are hot right now because they are new. I have and had 9 AMG's including several coupes (only the BS is even retaining anything but it did take a year 2 dip). So if you are going to keep it for a year or maybe just a bit longer, endure the sweaty back LOL and work a discount off your previous price.

If the dealer is not an AMG performance center store, assume 11.75% from msrp to triple net in cost and work from the bottom up. If its a Performance store than the discount is heavier. Remember its December and while we all like to think AMG's are special; to the dealer its just another car they need to move vs sit on and this one is an ordered one to add.

GM (new guy) just called, they admitted it was their fault!! ... best they could do is offer me (from MB not the dealer) was a $1000 discount!! Up yours!!! ... my short lived MB stint comes to a close... On my way to order that new M6!

Later!...

Sorry to hear that, mate. One would think they would try to satisfy a 100k car customer.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your M6, it's a cool car

GOOD NEWS! After posting a not so good FaceBook review on the dealers website - they made me an offer that was hard to refuse. Got the car for $1k under dealer cost! I'm happy now. Guess I can live without the vented seats for the discount $$. Will post a bit later my review of C63s vs M4 (since I have one of each now)

Congratulations!

As I was reading through the thread and seeing how nice the car looks, I was getting sicker and sicker... right up to the 1K off offer.

That's great news that they gave you a deal that you couldn't pass up. Enjoy in great health!

I would also be gutted if not all delivered to my spec but hey, you got yourself a lot better deal by the sounds of it so I wouldnt refuse it too.
It makes a difference if you make a bit of fuss right?
Now you can enjoy your ride
I am awaiting my delivery - 20th Jan for same spec as yours (not sure of your interior though as couldnt see it).

Definetly please post your thoughts on the big differences between m4 and c63s. I am going to be merc virgin and would have bought m4 again if it wouldnt be for my wife lol

Yes - big difference if you make a fuss (especially on social media).

Interior is the Platinum White - love it (tired of black interiors). Will upload other pics soon.

Yes - will post differences (major and minor) between the M4 and C63s later (once I get some time logged in on it). Been driving the M4 for about 2 months now and can say one big difference is the transmission. Love the double M clutch on the M4 (which also has a center console shifter) - not sure I like having only paddle shifters only on the C63s.

Thanks!

Well, only paddle shifters is really a downside on these cars. If not on the racetrack, I don't like keeping both my hands on the steering wheel all the time... and how do you deal with tight corners? Overlap and twist hands?... or shift up with the left?

I would agree. I have had both ventilated and cooled seats on previous cars. Ventilated seats don't do much. I would ask for a discount and take the car. Enjoy!

Good to know about ventilated seats, I always figured they'd work wonders especially if cooled.

Thanks!
I agree that the dual clutch is a little better than the MCT in the Benz BUT I much prefer the application of the auto mode in the C63 in that if you want to pull a paddle it will eventually go back to auto and in the M4 if you pull a paddle it is in manual for good.
The C63 lets you choose the manual if wanted but I drive a lot in auto and still use paddles a lot to down shift when needed and the algorithm is good enough to know to stay there if it knows you want to .
