C63 and C63s

Does anyone know the different between a base C63 and C63s beside $8K more for 39 hp extra hp. For around $2-4K with aftermarket tuned gains upward of 100 hp. So why would anyone want to pay extra $8K? I just can't do it.

its not about 39 hp

S version has dynamic engine mounts and composite braking system (helps to increase fade resistance and reduces weight)

Also, standard leather interior in any color, 19" wheels, and the electronic rear differential. I think there's a couple other small things as well.

In day to day driving, I doubt if the lay person would be able to feel the dynamic engine mounts and electronic differential at work. The S hasn't got composite brakes, just larger ones.

Of course it's your money and ultimately your call.

I went for the base model and used the savings on options that I will use everyday and appreciate.

Here is the non S in action.

The OP I believe, is comparing both cars without options.

Thanks. I stand corrected. AMG Website calls it compound.

A lot of the options on the S are either standard or reduced in price (wheels, upholstery, steering wheel, etc.) and lessen that $8k or so delta.

That said, the non-S items (no dynamic engine mounts, mechanical diff) probably make it more involving (aka difficult) to drive. The C63S is definitely easier to drive the car in corners, rough and wet roads as opposed to my 507.
