Hi folks,
I'm a new member here. I'm interested in getting a new C63S coupe. However, I was wondering when people think if or when the engine and transmission from the latest E63 might be given to the C63? I think a C63 with 600+ BHP, selectable 4WD with drift mode, a 9 speed box and cylinder deactivation would be nice to have.
I know 9 speeds aren't necessary, but it might help economy a little bit.
Thoughts welcome.

I've seen several articles claim that the 9 spd and 4matic were to become available on AMG models in the future. I'm fairly certain the 9 speed will phase out the 7 speed in the next few years....the 4matic doesn't seem like a stretch either.

 

9 speed is meant for leaving the car in auto, even on the track, so hopefully never.

 

The C63 already has the option for a 9-Speed and 4-Matic... its called the C43... lol

I went with the C43 because of the 4-Matic (that and I would never be able to use all the power of the C63 in this area). I only drive the C43 in Manual Mode and in S+, 100% of the time. Coming from a true manual, the paddles are breeze even with the million gears to go up and down through (actually I never get tired of the downshifting blips trough 9 speeds). This morning's commute was pouring sleet and it never missed a beat no matter how hard I pushed... and it sounds great doing so. The real world traction is the best of any car I have owned.

I would never track it... that's what my Boxster S is for !!!

 

9-Speed MCT could come with the facelift. 4WD probably never.

 

Would you really want to buy a 4000lb Coupe?

 

Possibly next generation of the C class. Don't count on any major powertrain changes from here on out. I think they wasted enough money on the whole c400 -> c450 -> c43 nonsense.

 

And what do you think the one you own weighs ? Let me guess about 4100 lbs.

When might the facelift be happening do we think?

 

Well, the W204 saloon facelift came 4 years after initial release (2007-2011) so I'd expect a facelift for the W205 saloon sometime in 2018 (2019/20 for the coupe).

 

According to the AMG spokesman at the Private Lounge Gathering it's in the 3800lb range

 

The MB web site says 4096
And on other cars their(MB) stated weight comes very close to the Car Mags, when they weigh them during testing.

It will not happen anytime soon... If at all, it will be incorporated in the next generation of C AMGs.

 

There is the 'Drift mode' setting.

Don't act like you guys are 100% in love with roasting your tires. Pretending you guys are Tokyo drifting around every corner as if you're Ken Block. Get real. You guys are just like me. Praying and hoping for the day when you can get a c63 w/ 4matic... There is nothing quite like having 500 ft/lbs of tq and near 100% traction all the time. But if you want to know, ask me next week
