Thanks! As I understand it, the GTS bypasses the rear muffler entirely in loud mode. My non-S will probably need a rear muffler delete AND a cat delete to sound like the GTS!

Do you find the GTS loud enough?

Its subjective but Im ok with it... maybe could be 20% louder but Im probably more along the "wanting noise" side of the spectrum.

For those of you that have done this, can you hear the turbos while revving/driving casually like you normaly would with a cat-less downpipe? Or does the primary cat hold that noise back?

I haven't driven a GT yet, so can't compare. But looking forward to it at Lime Rock this summer.

To be honest from the driver seat the sound is not that different. Maybe because the cabriolet is open and has no actual roof. But the sedan sounds a little louder once on boost

Edit, my GTS is tuned and Weistec was able to tweak the software for more overrun and battleship pops but stock its still louder.
You have to remember, removing the secondary CAT will not only increase volume but will change the sound compared to stock. Some people will not like the increased higher frequencies. Personally, I love how it sounds with the secondary cat delete.

I live in Dallas and will be doing this mod today after work. I plan on going to a shop in Denton, which has worked on a lot of muscle cars as well as cars like ours. My buddies have nothing but positive reviews about this place, so I am optimistic that everything will go well as the job should be pretty easy. I will try to post a before and after video once I get the cats cut.

You have done this? Any clips? My post above was more along the lines of sound increase (decibels) vs pitch and tone changes. From the posters here who have done it; they state its more of the same.

Definitely more of same on GT Vic, but an octave lower here.

Also when valve closed there is a funkier idle that I dig.

To those who have already done this mod, did everyone just cut out the secondary cat and weld a straight pipe in it's place? Or did anyone have the shop create a flange so you can swap the stock secondary cat back in place if need be?

No. I heard one at the dealer and noticed that it was louder but had a sharper sound through the rpm range. He had performance exhaust and the secondary cat delete done from what he told me.

I did find a video here that sounded similar.

Hey guys,

I had my car up, and was looking for the secondary cats on my 2017 C63s coupe with the performance exhaust. Is it at bottom of the down pipes ?
Thanks for any input....

Marco

Does the resonator or secondary cat delete cause any drone wit cruising? I did a resonator delete back on on my 5 series BMW and it would drone when cruising at 75 mph on the highway.
