Picked up my new baby last night. Unfortunately it snowed last night so she is sitting in the garage today.
I have read a ton of opinions on the break in period. What are you guys opinions on the break in. Is it safe to run in Sport + and just not beat on it or should I leave it in Comfort mode for a little while?

I just bought mine (C63 S, Sedan, Black) back in October 2016 and just passed the 1k mile mark in December. I left mine in comfort mode and did not go beyond 4-5 RPM. Sport once, sport + once during that time. I figured I can do a 1,000 miles and break it in - I have a lifetime to really put my foot in it.

Motor break-in is such a controversial topic. I say keep it low RPM's for the first hundred miles or more and then start to gradually un the RPM and load applied. A good thing that I was taught by a guy that builds race motors is to let the motor decelerate. Rev it up to 4, 5, and eventually 6,000rpm in manual mode and let the motor decelerate in gear.
I think driving like a grandma just doesn't bed the rings in properly. Go from that to driving it like a bat out of hell after the 1,000mile mark just doesn't make sense to me. But either way, enjoy the car! And always have the peace of mind that you have a warranty
