RENNtech ECU Comments?

Am seriously considering the RENNtech ECU upgrade on a C63S coupe. Has anyone here gone that route? Any comments either way?

I was very pleased with my C400 ECU upgrade. Though I think its very expensive, the performance gains are considerable: 1/4 mile up 5mph to 112. In addition, there are no drivability issues whatsoever and fuel economy is not affected. For the 276 DELOS 30 engine the tune is An increase in 1psi boost and a very welcome deletion of governor.
Very good tune but expensive.

Couldn't be happier with the tune, if you can get traction, it really throws you back and just keeps pulling hard through every gear. The stock 265 Dunlop rears were no use up through 3rd gear, so the 285 MPSS definitely made a huge difference traction wise.
The coordination with Renntech was very good as well, they kept communication with me through the process of me dropping off my car at a shop, the shop taking out the ECU and shipping it to them, tuning it, then shipping it back for install.

I've read this before so I know I'm not the only one experiencing it, but in comfort mode, it still feels choppy as if it doesn't know what gear it wants to be in. Might be because comfort starts it in 2nd gear. It happens less now though since I've adapted to how the car drives and accelerates and vice versa.

Other than that, I haven't had any issues with the tune and have 12k miles total on the car with about 7k miles with the Tune on it.

Some say this tune throws engine lights and IMO it's overpriced.

Eurocharged has best bang for buck......pun intended.

That is crazy!^
That is why I am glad I went with AMR. They lifetime warranty the software so even if something happens (which thankfully nothing has) they have great customer service to handle any potential problems. Also, I checked into Renntech as well and I felt they were overpriced for the gains they advertise. I looked for my car and my buddies C63 and I felt they were severely underpowered in comparison to competing brands. Just my opinion though, good luck with whoever you choose!

I shipped them my ECU, they programmed it and shipped it back to me. It was a super simple process and with their stage 1 I gained 110hp and 140tq above stock. What I like about their tune also is that EVERYTHING feels improved. The gas pedal is more sensitive, the transmission shifts quicker and firmer and surprisingly enough I get better gas mileage

Sorry I am work and didn't fully read that lol so that was my car. My buddy took his C63s up to AMR's tuning location so he could go on the dyno and he gained 150hp and 155tq. He loves it so far and destroys the rest of us when we do highway pulls haha

Seems these guys are right by me. I may consider a tune for my c63s. Does your buddy have a w205 c63? If so how did the tune go for him?

Yes its a w205 and its worth it for sure! His car is a rocket and he said it was an easy, pleasurable experience. They did a base dyno pull to show what he made stock and then did a pull with the tune. You could see the gain on the dyno sheet and it was huge. Both of our cars feel nothing like stock, but obviously his destroys mine lol. I would check them out for sure. They are great guys to talk to on the phone, so I could imagine actually going on there dyno is a fun time

Also considering a tune for my C63S. I trust Renntech, but this information on AMR is intriguing. Were those gains on an "S" model, or the standard C63? Does anyone else here have any history with AMR? Thanks.

It was an "S" model. I am prety sure the gain would be the same regardless because both have the same motor, its just the S has a little more power stock. All in all though AMR is great and we both could not be happier with our cars!

There are alot of people on this forum that use AMR. I personally did exactly what you are doing, asking around, hunting for pricing and at the end I am glad and pleased with choose AMR. .

There are quite a few people who tune the E63. I was looking at Renntech and Eurocharged before I came across AMR. I looked at their website which was very informative. The power numbers looked good but at the end, it came down to the customer service which is what sold me. Every email and phone call was professional and they took the time to talk to me no matter how stupid the question was lol. The turn around time was quick and let me tell you the car is NOTHING LIKE IT WAS! I was one of those guys who "didnt want to tune my car" but after making this choice and driving on their tune I am now an addict LOL!

The team over at AMR are great and highly knowledgable. You definitely wont be disappointed.
