I can't understand why they just can't add Apple Carplay as an option right away... I would much rather have that than the AMG track pace app that they're adding...

The whole situation may be stranger than even adding options. I was with my dealer today going over the changes and the way the guide read right now is you cannot have the multimedia package and the Apple CarPlay option. This means you would not be able to have the upgraded screen, command system, etc and Apple car play selected. This may change or could be a misprint in this first edition. But, I found it to be very strange. I would personally rather have the larger command screen than the smaller screen with Apple car play.......

if you order Apple CarPlay my SA said you are stuck with the smaller screen w/o touchpad or builtin nav. Whats even worse is that the driver assistance package is linked to the multimedia package so you have to give up everything for apple carplay. hope this is fixed/clarified in the next dealer ordering guide rev!
