Can you do me a favor and engage race start and see what rpm it holds at because after doing the update mine seems to hold lower as well as launch much much better. TIA

https://youtu.be/DyX3bVsmSlE Here is a quick video I put together while driving after the update. The 1st to 2nd upshift at redline sounds much more violent then before.

Called my SA and was told too that they can't just update the software without a valid reason. So I just told him the car was jerky and they updated it.
Don't about you guys in the US but for my car always found it to be a bit jerky during certain shifts or when coming to a stop it happens randomly and I can't replicate it on command. Happens to me sometimes when I'm slowing down and coming to a stop at the lights or when I'm just cruising and gently accelerating
New software installed car feels smoother and yes exhaust sounds a tad louder and a few more pops

Just did due to jerky feeling when on accelerator lightly. Not driven much since I got it back, but no further episodes so far.
My car was an Edition 1, so I assume I went from the early software upgrade to the most recent. So car does not sound different to me. It always backfires and gurgled.

so i got around to calling my dealer- they said there are no recalls for my car a 2015 c63s sedan and said they cant just do a software update. she said bring it in and if the foreman can replicate the issue (jerky shifts...which i have just not all the time) he can recommend further diagnostic. so...this is gonna be annoying lol

Would you happen to have the same documentation for Version 2 of this update?
Model series 205, engine sound changes after software update
Topic number LI07.08-P-065149
Version 2
Design group 07.08 Governor
Date 03-21-2017
Validity BR 205 with M177 up to production date 12/2016
Reason for change Cleanpoint entered
Complaint: Engine sound complaint on AMG C 63 vehicles (model 205 with M177 engines) up to production date 12/2016
Cause: Current production AMG engines undergo constant development in regards to performance optimization. In the recent updates to engine and transmission in the C63 vehicles the objective was to optimize the vehicle drive off agility in S+ mode from stand still. These software updates unintentionally led to changes in the engine sound.
Remedy: To correct the engine sound after the recent software update situation and resolve customer complaint, update the engine ME again as follows:
DVD 07/2016 with add-on 6527
DVD 09/2016 with add-on 6529
Or a newer DVD
Following the engine software update, the transmission control unit will be updated also.

Do you think this is the case for coupes produced after December 2016? It seems that the cars that I have heard with this update have more noise than mine that was produced in Feb 2017.

I had the service done and really didn't notice anything different. In fact, I'm now assessing whether or not the exhaust is less aggressive than before. I have the performance exhaust. By the way, you need strong justification for the software install. They will not do the update without a clear related issue. Keep this in mind when you call your SA.

Perhaps I misspoke calling it a service. Its just a software update.
