The Silver bars can be removed. You just have to be real careful of the locking tabs. For this reason, the dealership did it for me. I had it painted black, but ended up going with the Carbon-Fibre. Once it is removed, you can just push it back in place.Attachment 350993

Just been wondering this myself. After poking around, I learned there is a "Carbon Pkg" grille cover for the w205 c63 with Part No. 205-888-06-60 (item number 4 labeled in the diagram found here). It has a different Part No. than the non-carbon pkg grille covers so I'm assuming there must be some difference. I googled around and don't see any actual images of this OEM carbon grille anywhere. Does anyone have any info on this or what this looks like? I even went to the MB website to configure a new C63 to look for details on the carbon pkg, but don't see any visible difference in the front grille. For $200, it's certainly a cheaper alternative to aftermarket options if I can get my hands on one.

I have distronic, and am looking for the same thing, my car has the night package, and its silly that they don't black out grill, door handles, and trunk accent. I ended up wrapping handles, and rear accent, handle is peeling a bit, and front painted but chips all over the place. I am going to plastidip it myself...

So if I just want to remove the grill to plastidip it. Is it possible to remove without removing the bumper? It seems from this thread it’s possible but major pita. Just wondering if anyone has ever removed it without removing the bumper.
Thanks
Thanks

Btw, I'm against plastidipping too. But I've been wondering if I could put on a layer of plastidip, and then spraying a coat of gloss black paint. You know, in case I mess up or want to revert to stock.
Another alternative is to risk it and order a gloss black piece from eBay/China. But for some reason, all the parts on there are disclaimed as not fitting a C63. I thought these grills worked equally for C63 and non-C63. Anyone have any experience with eBay grills?
If not, guess just pay 1500$ for a part from mode carbon..

Painting it will result in chips, I don't know if I simply had a bad paint job from an allegedly reputable local shop or this is simply a more challenging than what it appears task (I don't care either way).
With wrapping, my installer (that done my other car) refused to wrap it, he said it won't come out good, since you will have to do it by pieces and cuts where it'll be visible.
I don't know why you guys are against plastidip, it comes in numerous color and finishes, and if done right, it looks just like paint but arguably better since its softer and won't crack or chip, and is easily removable.
I think you should trust the chinese seller when they say it doesn't fit. Looking around on chinese market inventory, they definitely know what they are doing and who they are selling to. I think they will be happy to sell to us if it fitted, but it simply doesn't fit. I am guessing the mounting tabs are different and bumper specific (AMG class has a different bumper)

Nothing against plastidip in general. I've used plastidip before but just don't like the matte look for the front grill and my purposes. And in my experience, exposure to the elements makes it look bad after awhile, and I'd just rather not have to worry about redoing the process every so often.
I've also used glossifier but didn't like the end result. The gloss makes any unevenness or impurities stand out much more. But I'm also bad at these paint/exterior things so that plays a big factor lol.
I agree with you on the Chinese seller point. I was just wondering since the oem part stores listed this part as also fitting non-AMG models (screenshot attached). But I guess we just saw how reliable these sites are

Yep I'm in the same boat. I want to dechrome the car, my wrap guy said that front grill won't be very good from a vinyl perspective and he wants to pain instead. I don't want to paint it for the inevitable trade in a year or two. Anyone successfully wrap that front and did it keep?
