Pure Turbos Stage 1 M177 Turbo Upgrade - dyno and slips
#26
These are OEM turbos with upgraded compressor wheels, not replicas (this is why you need to send in your turbos or pay the $6500 core charge).
Removing turbos does not make the downpipe install any easier. The DP's are v-banded at the turbo, so it's actually very easy to disconnect from the top. The problem is that you cannot snake the downpipes out without a) cutting them in half or b) dropping the transmission.
Oddly enough, a turbo swap looks to be much easier than installing downpipes on this platform.

No, Pure Turbos uses their own specs - they're very popular and reputable in the F8X and N54/N55 community. I asked them about tuning and they said they can recommend tuners - for this particular setup, they used Precision Tuning in NJ: https://www.instagram.com/precisiontuning/

I was told that they will be fitting their turbos to a customers Eurocharged Stage 2 Tuned car in the near future so I'm siting to see these results.

They made a bit more power by advancing the timing a bit (boost is still the same at 21 psi) and added meth injection: 646 whp, 616 wtq

So I have received information on the Pure Stage 2 Turbo's and looks like The stage 2 have both compressor and turbine larger wheels. Stage 1 has compressor only. Looks like they're pricing them right at $4995. Compared to the $2995 on stage 1. Curious if this would be better or similar to the Weistec W.3 at the same price? They might both be identical for the internals. I'm hearing around the 670whp on the Stage 2, I have seen one pushing them to I believe it was 710whp.

Saw some pretty exciting stuff coming from Pure Turbos. Stage 1 turbo upgrade (saw $2995 + core) making 634 WHP 608 WTQ on 93 octane with downpipes and a catback and ran 10.7 @ 131 MPH

What do people do after getting mods like this to get the car to actually plant that power down? Im all stock and cant even floor the car from a dead stop let alone trying that with 600hp+.... talking about street not track

Gotta go with a good 305 tire. If u don't put a lot of miles on each year go with like a nitto drag radial.

It was on a better pass when it ran 4mph faster in the 1/8, but the car pulled timing more than likely due to high iat’s and it slowed down on the back half of the track. Happens all the time because the back half is where the real load on the intercooler system is, but water-meth injection fixes that issue.

2016 C63 AMG with 36,000 miles currently.
I'm considering Pure 900 Turbos. The only negative post I've seen regarding Pure Turbos was from improper installation.
I am interested to know more about Pure 900 Turbos and their reliability.
Am thinking that I could install the turbos and use HP Tuners MPVI2+ to tune. I am not looking for a maximum power tune. No knock, reliable tune for my car. Which I use as my daily driver. I just want the car to have plenty of kick, you know just because.
I tried Weistec W.1 Tune but it doesn't work on my car without getting CEL. I swapped out ignition coils and put in their recommended 0.022" gapped spark plugs. I'm not a professional technician or tuning expert but it looks like the timing curve is over advanced. Using live mode on Autel MS906TS I observed knock sensor registering knock before getting CEL. No error codes get recorded. It also crashes the rev limiter in 4th gear and beyond. Transmission doesn't want to shift, I have to manually shift it.
I would have to buy HP Tuners MPVI2+ for data logging for Weistec to fix the tune I bought. Which I think is rubbish since it was $3K. I'm sending back the handheld tuner and maybe I'll get a refund. Sure the car is quicker, until the CEL comes on and I have to pull over on the highway to turn the car off and on again.
I don't want to remove stock DP or add meth injection, I just want to run on pump gas. Is it unrealistic to think I can install the Pure 900 Turbos and have a faster yet reliable car?
