AMR does NOT have an ECU removal guide for the C63S, only for the C450/C43 (which is located on top of the engine, a completely different location than the 63's).
This is yet another example of why having separate forums is a good thing...

for your E63 or your w205 C63 ? its a completely different animal. most of the cars ECU sit on top of the engine and can be removed with a few screws. The C63 ECU is by the passenger side wheel well and takes a good amount of time and i believe a lift to access. I know a few companies that say they can do under an hour. but the two shops in my area said its a good amount of work. i believe Mercedes has ECU removal booked for over 5 hours. that would be the proper way without squeezing it out like most shops do.

Very annoying that there is not a single tuner for the C63S that has published an ECU removal guide. Either it's really daunting, or tuners are keeping it a secret for some reason (maybe there is a much easier way to access it than we are aware of)

I reached out to one of the vendors here on the forums selling flashes and they said they do not have any ECU removal instructions... So how on earth am I supposed to send my ECU out? They recommended I go to one of their local dealers to get it done, but I don't want people wrenching on my car and definitely don't want to pay for the 2-4 hours of labor (or whatever is is) just to access the ECU!

Maybe speak with those guys for more information.
Maybe bit the bullet, pay for a shop to remove and professionally relocate the ECU then it's going to be accessible from then on.

If you remove the battery will you need radio codes, will it give you any issues when you connect it back together
By removing the coolant lines dose anyone know if its just a fill up when you connect the lines, will you need to bleed the coolant system as some cars can be a pain to bleed the coolant system

If they would just come out with hand held tuning... I would pay premium just for the ease. I mean in reality I can't be that hard to figure it out. I feel like since the market for tuning is as good as it is with ECU only they do t have any incentive

Automotive companies pay millions and millions of dollars to code their ecu so that exact thing doesn't happen. It would have to be more profitable than R and D for the private market to be even worth it.
