Front license plates - help any ideas?

First off - I hate them, but I want to be legal... moving violation ticket in massachusetts + living in the city makes you a rip target

Anyone have any creative ways to mount the front license plate that look good? Twist ties, brackets, different locations, I'm looking for anything creative. I found a good way to do the range rover and the x5 so looking for something to do here...

Please post pictures if you can!

How about this? The dealer has a bracket that looks good and instead of drilling into the bumpers I used double sided 3m tape.

Wow, I can't believe it's a moving violation in MA.

Bad enough it's a fix it ticket in CA. I just deal with em when I get em.

If it's gotta be permanent... why are you looking for something creative? Unless you plan on moving to a different state... just go to the dealership and have them mount the bracket.

I've had my car 16 months with paper plates. Ill deal with it when I get pulled over. Im going with the tow hook bracket when the time comes. That way I can still take it off and have a clean bumper if I want. Not drilling holes in the bumper.

Yah, but you're in LA, it's different.

I would advise you not to put one on the front... it's a bit of a risk/reward thing...

Sure, it gives them a reason to pull you over if they want to... but they usually don't sweat higher end cars for no front plate out here... usually, not always.

But the upside... if you do get pulled over for speeding... if the cop likes you, he might just write you the fix it ticket for no front plate and give you a warning for the speeding.

I've had that happen before.

In LA if you give them a reason to pull you over for no plates, they may start checking your tints...etc. So for me, I rather just mount it and forget about it. Also in LA, parking enforcements can also give you a ticket for no front plates...

Anyone have a link to the tow hook mount? I'd like to have one available for long highway drives.

I personally dont use a front plate... had one ticket in all the years of not having one mounted on my higher end sports cars. I am in Vancouver BC aka the super car capital of the world per capita, so like LA, police dont sweat the higher end stuff so much.... but what a lot of guys are doing here are having their front plate # screened on a piece of white vinyl ppf/wrap and simply sticking in to the area where the OEM mount would go... from a glance it looks just like the real plate. Its completely flush with the rest of the front end, and can simply peel off. Police dont seem to mind it.

check this link... something similar to this, although this guy kinda did a homemade version, and he already has holes drilled in his front bumper so not sure where he's coming from lol ... but this is the general idea. Guys here in Van have a company print/screen them up and are usually smaller

around here that is more likely to get you pulled over than if you had nothing. City police don't care, but texas highway patrol do care. That's why i want the tow hook mount just for cross county drives.

Gungaslow, where are you located? Our Cardinal Red C63 sedans may run into each other one of these days. I live in NH, but work in Methuen, MA and am regularly in Boston.

I use this company for my m3 tow hook:

http://www.usmillworks.com/Default.html

You can see if they have something for you, but their stuff is top notch and heavy gauge.

i would recommend getting a bit of light thread lock if you plan on leaving it on for long durations.
