Sidewall Height and Lowering Kit

Why is the sidewall height so low. 20 and 25 is very low. That will be a hard ride and may cause rim damage on some pot holes. Also, what lowering kit did you use.
Thanks for the info. I am looking at those wheels in chrome. Very nice style.

The large wheels looks awesome, but make the brakes look small now.

The rear brake discs look small even with 19's

I'm in the market for several different rim set ups for this vehicle and that above even 2 years on is still best fitment for a 21" in the rear that I've seen.

HRE do some nice work.

Good to do research

I have been looking at wheels for a while and HRE are the best. I lot of wheels will fit but may not be made specifically for your vehicle. I have already chosen my wheels but I will not say, as I will have a one of a kine setup. The wheels will be HRE's for sure and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S. I will order the 2020 C63S convertible as soon as they are available to order. I will choose the European delivery as I live in Germany for 13 years and the Autobahn is so fantastic to see what your car can really do. Do not choose wheels for the looks but for functionality. Only buy a wheel that will have the German TUV, which means they have been tested on a German racetrack to be sure they will not make the vehicle unsafe. Many American wheel makers avoid the testing, as it can be expensive for them. Why spend so much money for a wheel and tire that will not allow you to drive 150p mph. or more. Also keep in mind that when you buy aftermarket wheels in a larger size, you will have to lower the vehicle to make if look great. Only choose KW Variant 3 suspension, as they are also German made to perform to a high German vehicle standard. They also have German TUV. A car with so much power must also be safe. That is the only way to feel safe putting the pedal to the metal. Good luck and ask many questions an do your research. HRE's are the only American brand wheel I would ever purchase.Avoid 3 piece wheels and tire shops will most often damage the inner seal and cause you many problems. Mono block forged aluminum are your best choice. Always purchase the tire hazard warranty as it will pay off in the long run. Discount Tire is the best place for tires. They are really flexible if you ever have a tire issue. Always get and keep your wheel alignment up to date. Once a year is normal. It will save on improper tire ware. I have a lovely wife, but my car has always been my girlfriend. She deserves the best also. LOL

You're wrong here. So many people don't seem to understand how tire sizes work. the first number is section width and the second number is a percentage of the width.

Coupe OEM specs:
front 255/35 19 x 9j et 25
rear 285/30 20 x 10.5j et 57

HRE Specs:
front 255/30/20 20x9j (same diameter)
rear 295/25/21 21x10.5j (less than 1% increased diameter)

You are right. But percentage of the width simply relates to sidewall height. A 30 height is ok but 25 can be a problem. I had 305/25/20's before. Did you need a lowering kit? The space between the tire and fender looks pretty large.

HRE do some nice work.
When you increase the wheel diameter you must also decrease the tire sidewall height accordingly to maintain the wheel/tire rolling diameter that the car came with. Generally speaking you want to stay with +/- 2% difference from the OEM wheel/tire rolling diameter. Since the car above used 20" front & 21" rear these lower profile tires had to be used. If you disregard this rule and you have wheels/tires that are too short or too tall it can risk putting the car into limp mode.

HRE's are certainly one of the best aftermarket wheel manufacturers in the world & we're proud to be able to say that we have been their largest dealer in the world for over 15 years straight. It would be great to work with the both of you on your sets. Who knows, maybe you guys even pair up and purchase at the same time so I can get you a package deal

Just like I thought. No answer to my question. Only uses this platform for selling products with no expertise in lowering kits to make the vehicle look right. Your car needs a lowering kit. You just may have put these wheels on a car to claim it is yours. OMG. The aftermarket wheel market is full of smoke and mirrors. This is a prime example of that. LOL. Don't try to fool people. Everyone who spends 10,000 dollars for a pair of HRE's are not dumb. Are these wheels TUV certified. Please address all the issues to appear professional or an expert. Still waiting for your answer.

Who are you directing this message too ?? if you are asking someone directly, then use the "@" and start typing their name, so that it will tag them as well.

And I just read thru the thread and I am even confused as to what your question still is ?? So maybe : Restate your question, so people can see what needs responding too... :-)

Whoh man........you expect info to just find you? Asking if HRE wheels are TUV certified is just dumb! OF COURSE THEY ARE TUV CERTIFIED!!

Your attitude reminds me of why the word 'entitled' even has any meaning in todays day and age

LOL. I'm not so dumb. The factory was TUV certified in 2011. That does not mean all the wheels they make are TUV certified. Do you have new info on their latest TUV certification. OMG
