Which AMG to buy
First post here. I'm obviously new to the forums. I'm looking to buy a weekend/play car.
I wanted to get your opinion on a couple cars I'm looking at. First of all this is going to be a second car. I'm looking for a sports car/hot rod. I've always loved the AMG cars. My first thought is a C63. Im looking for power so im considering a 2014 6.2, putting a supercharger, headers, exhaust, etc. or a 2015/16 then programming, downpipe, tuning etc. which one am I able to get more power out of?
My other option is to get a 2014/15 E or CLS63. The benefit of this would be the all wheel drive. I would tune and exhaust this too. The all wheel drive would greatly help when the wife uses the car.
I like the sports car aspect of the C series with its smaller size and rear wheel drive. I like the all wheel drive aspect of the E and CLS. I do feel the the E and CLS is a bit too fancy for my style (I'm a low key kinda guy).
What would you guys reccomend?
Drive them. Only way to tell.
the w205 is more up to date. however there are not many crazy builds yet so there may be some weak spots we dont know about. plus the starting price for one is much higher. the most i have seen is upgraded turbos with cooling and other mods putting it around 750 HP.
figure a w205 is going to be around 55k plus if you want to go all out another 18k in mods
a w204 you can get an older one for around 35-40 and supercharge go all out for 20k
So, if no headaches are a plus to you and you're a relatively busy man without a shop nearby or a second car - that would weigh into my decision.
the 204 is one of the best sounding production cars under the 100k mark. Love that thing.

I'm excited to see the new E63 and I'm sure it's going to be a monster but I'm not going to spend $120k an a car that's going to depreciate 30%+ in 2-3 years. That numbers game doesn't make sense to me. Now if it was $120k and the car would hold its value or appreciate then that's another story.
