Major differences from 16-17-18?
Hey just had a quick question, Is there any major differences from the 16-17-18 S-AMG models? In the market for one at the moment and not so sure if I should wait and grab the 18 which is probably 3 months or just find and grab a nice 16-17.
Thanks

not really no. The option groupings changed year to year and 17 had a few more standard options but overall not many changes. You'd be better finding an on the lot 17 and negotiate it down. You'd be able to find a good deal if you go 17 or even 16. If you find a 16 they'll do some crazy discounts.
'15, '16, '17, '18 they're pretty much all the same, which kinda makes me a little happier because my car still looks 'fresh'.

Yea from all i've noticed/heard between 16-17 is that keyless-go became standard and that exhaust note button on the center console, which to me is a must have option. Anyone know which option that is by the way?

'15 to '16 the HUD improved (more modes) and theres additional 'performance' information available on the COMAND system.
Besides that, not much diff.

OP: there aren't too many new 2016s left (AutoTrader says 6 in the US, though not all dealers seem to post their inventory), but if you can find one that you like the specs on, I'd say a 25% off MSRP deal would be pretty easy to get at this point. I got 25% off ($20k), which included the Fleet Discount (good for $2500). That was two months ago. You could probably do as well without the Fleet Discount at this point, and maybe better if you are eligible.
Just be willing to travel; I flew to MN to buy mine (live in NH, though I actually was going to MN for work anyway). A $200 one-way flight may be worth it to save $20k.

The exhaust on my '17 crackles, pops & bangs upon revving. My '15 did not and I even had the dealer do the software update that was on the forum here that was supposed to change it so it would but it didn't work on mine for some reason. The 15's & 16's do not pop & bang like the 17's do. The '17 exhaust sound is much better in my opinion. I'd go for a 2017.
