AMG Performance Seats?
Im thinking about picking up a used C63s Sedan. The only thing i am really split about is the performance seats. I like to track every now and then as well as canyon runs. I also plan on doing several 500+ mile road trips with the car which is a reason i am looking for a car with Distronic plus. My question is are the performance seats worth it and how do they fair on longer drives? i have only spent 30 minutes in them so i'm looking for thoughts on those who daily drive with them and have spent extended time in the car.

I drive about 40 minutes a day each way with performance seats. love the way they hug my body and they are pretty comfortable. No issues with back pain or anything. Plus when you turn at speed, you stay planted in the seat.

Love 'em
Drove 7 hours home from the dealer. Took a bit of experimenting to get the seat set up for my 5'9" 190 lb. frame but once done, very impressive. Much much better than my similarly priced Sparcos in my Corvette, although they were pretty darn good.

I hate and I mean I HATE my performance seats. I have a thin 'muscular' build with a nice butt (quoting gf) but the pain during long drives is real. My butt hurts like hell and I hear same complaints from my passengers.
The standard seats are better IMO and they're also $2500 cheaper.

I'll probably never track my car, as much as I'd love to. It's my daily driver, but I drive aggressively (but still within reason, so it's nothing like I'd drive on a track).
I have the non-performance seats, which are just that... I don't quite feel as planted as I'd like to sometimes (although, maybe I'm just not used to the seats after spending the last 10 years in a BMW seat), but for my driving, 95% of the time I'm glad I got the standard seats :-) I think it just comes down to what you use your car for mostly and what kind of driver you are... all personal preference IMHO

I sat in both and I choose performance seats hands down.
Looks and feel of the performance seats cannot compare to the regular seats.

+1 for Performance Seats. I've done many 3+ hour stints and haven't had a single complaint with comfort (PSA/pro-tip: make sure you don't drive with your wallet in your back pocket!).
I tried the standard seats when I test drove a C63S Sedan and thought they felt great, but didn't hug me the same way the performance seats do. Plus the performance seats look great and really add to the interior.

Personally, I prefer the performance seats, as the standard seats tend to be flat, as if your sitting on a bench. It's not that bad, but you do tend to slide around, and the seat aren't supportive or comfortable.

Performance seats all the way. done many long drives and no issues at all. My wife has even commented on how comfortable they are compared to my last car. In my S4 that has sporty seat during long trips i always found myself searching for a comfortable position and constantly moving around to not stiffen up, this car no issues like that at all. Only complaint it that it doesn't pinch in enough, however i have been working on that issue at the gym lol

One thing to remember too is that the standard seats are able to be lowered quite a bit more than the performance seats. It's not a huge amount, but if you are over 6' tall it's very noticeable.

I like the look of the performance seats but they were too firm for me. The standard seats are really comfortable and as a bonus you supposedly get a tiny bit more headroom

Tried both. Performance seats for me. Fit me great and super supportive. No comfort issues at all. They look awesome as well. For the standard seats I felt like I was sitting on top of them and not in them. I like more bolstering that they offer.

My advice is to sit in both at dealer and see what fits. I have the sport seats and LOVE them. Totally comfortable and fit me great. I like how you sit in them whereas for the standard seats I felt like I was sitting on top of them with little support.

How would you compare the C63 to the BMW seat. After 8 years with a 1-Series with sports seats (which I love), I am looking at a C63 and would be interested to hear your opinion about how they both compare. That would be my daily driver, so seat quality is kind of important to me...

I've daily driven E92 M3 with sport seats, 911S with Sports seats, Cayman GT4 with Sport seats, good friend has M3 with Sport seats and GT3 RS with CF buckets AND I think the MB sport seats are great. Really great actually. Quite frankly don't see why people have any issue with them. I find them more comfortable than the Porsche Sport seats by a good margin, the lateral support is great, cushion is firm but not punishing in anyway and they look great. Interior looks much more special with these seats than the base ones. For me totally worth the cost and have zero downside. Base seats sit like eco car buckets with no side support at all. Everybody is built differently so some butt-tiime in them will go a long way but for me sport seats on any car they are available in.
