Oops, I don't own this particular AMG model.
"Near death" for 40+? It should be more like "over the hill."

2021 Mercedes C63s AMG Coupe
I am 22, I don't have the C63, but I have a pretty loaded C43.
I am a Fuel Handling Engineer at Bruce Power (It's a nuclear powerplant). Probably not the best decision at my age. But like they say, you can't race a house, but you can sleep in a car.

2014 E63, Cobra replica, 68 Camaro, 66 Chevy II SS, Z4 BMW, Honda Element, Birel 125cc Shifter Kart.
Just turned 70 and this is my fifth AMG in a row. Clk55, SL55, E55, E63 and now the C63S coupe. My faves were the supercharged 55's. nothing beats a supercharger for instant throttle response and drivability. The turbos on the 63 are the best I've ever driven but the're is still a noticeable lag compared to a blower. That said the C63 is a hell of a fun car to drive. At 2.0% or less who would ever pay cash? Kids.

Are there still rate of 2% or less nowadays? That's what I have on my car when I refinanced it in early 2013, but I just don't see it anymore.

I'm truly jealous of the 10 people who are under 21 and already own this car. I wish I had this nice car at that age when I was still single, in better shape, and better looking.

Got 2.15% on mine. These kiddos don't understand wealth management or investment at their age. But at the same time, almost certainly, it's probably not their own money to spend in the first place haha... and they also still have earning potential.

Wow. Where did you get that rate from? I have been looking into this recently on a upcoming purchase (not a MB) and the only rate so far is 3.99% from the dealership when I put more than 20%. Of course, I still haven't given the okay to a loan broker (Blue Harbor) on start doing hard inquiry with my SSN to see other offerings out there.
Indeed, you can get more out of your money by investing somewhere else.

I agree that buying it NEW outright at 22 would be stupid as I would take a massive hit on depreciation.
I bought it used, nearly 15K off sticker less than 6months old.
With this good of a deal, i couldn't pass it up. Could have easily got a loan with small interest but the deal made sense when I worked out the numbers.
I just think its funny that people always assume that someone's parents paid for the car just because they are young. This is a different day and age.

A well maintained used car is definitely the way to go. Let the loaded folks take the hit on depreciation.

31 here. No financing or leasing.
People insisting that your 80-90 grand is better kept in the market as an investment, your return will be anything but negligible when you're already paying 2-4% interest each year for half a decade (or whatever the terms of your financing are).
Obviously, if a C63S is making up the bulk of your entire net worth, you shouldn't be financing or leasing this car in the first place... and your money will always be better off invested.
