Road Trip Protection
I'm thinking of driving to an out of town wedding. I don't have a clear bra on my car but wondered if anyone had recommendations on short term protection for road trips/track days etc. Anything anyone have a good experience with?

I once drove from Texas to New York with me 335i and taped the entire front end in Painter's Tape =P sort of cheesy, but worked flawlessly.
I'd agree with the above, though. Would just get a clear bra installed.

Eh, I've never really been a fan of the "permanent" paint protection film. I was just looking for a temporary solution to limit the chips. If I was going to wrap the car I would probably do the full car and I would do it right after I bought it and did a full paint correction on it.

+1 for painter's tape. I just got back from a road trip myself and used painters tape on the bumper, partial on both fenders and about 12" up on the hood. Looked hideous but came back with no stone chips at all!

they also have like a plastidip type of clear spray you can use.
and also temporary clear bra that you messily just drape over the front end.
I've used painters tape. It works well, only use the blue quality stuff otherwise you will destroy the top layer of paint and need to clay and polish afterwards. The beige stuff uses an abusive glue that does not react well to heat.

How long can you leave the blue painter's tape on the paint without causing a problem to the paint/clearcoat?

It wouldn't work for me, then. I'm trying to get it covered until the installer I like can ppf my car. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, the earliest it can be done is probably a month from now.
