Downpipes worth it for power?
On my c63s with a tune and no DPs vs a tune WITH DPs, other than spool and sound are there REAL quantifiable gains with these? Like 30WHP? Or is it more like 10 and a lot of sound lol?

i have tune and downpipes and I don't think the downpipes make significantly more power, I got them both at the same time, but looking at dyno graphs it is really more of a sound thing. But totally worth it for that.

I've been on the fence myself for a high flow catted dp but they are just under 2k. With a performance exhaust most would agree it makes the exhaust sound like crap. Mind you the other after market exhausts other there do sound very good with dp's. Personally after looking at Eurocharged recent post about turbo upgrades for 4k its a no brainer for increase in power versus dp's imho.

You mean downpipes sound bad with the Mercedes AMG performance exhaust? Because my car has that exhaust...

this is the consensus sounds like a diesel truck at idle lol. Once DP'd, personally believe Akrapovic sounds the best though they carry a high price range. Haven't heard to many catted down pipe's with stock performance exhaust, assuming it wouldn't be to bad.

I had mine done 2 weeks ago
There is a small odor without the cats but not bad unless in a confined space.

I had dp tune and exhaust done 2 weeks ago. The power difference is substantial. The sound is also much better in my opinion. I spent about 8500 total and feel it was well worth the money.

would have to disagree. Idle sounds great on my catless DP with stock amg exhaust. definitely subjective though.

yeah the sound doesn't sound true to ear, especially the fist part where the camera is below the car. It sounds closer to real life when I pick up the camera, even then my phone cannot get a good recording. I didn't help anything by filming it in a garage either. I recorded some driving sounds, but all the gopro picked up was wind noise.
