Touch-up Paint match for the silver front lip trim?
Anyone found a great touchup paint match for the silver swooping front lip trim (non night-pack vehicles)? Got a couple tiny rock chips that I'd love to fill in, but I can't find an official Mercedes code or paint for that.

Check your window sticker to see the paint option on your car. I then put that on eBay and a MBZ official touch up paint came up for my Polar White car.

Right, but I don't need the paint for the color of the car. That's what the code is for that is on the sticker (and door jam). I need it for the silver lip.

Best bet is go to a dealer and have them find it for you.

For little nicks and scrapes, I like to use Dr. ColorChip. It's great for filling in small imperfections.

Guys these are pencil point sized chips and my car never sees rain or anything, so the sharpie is a perfect fix. With the paint you'd be knocking it down from a bubble each time on spots this small. Few dabs with the permanent sharpie point and it's good to go forever.

In this case, the front lip is not a clear coated gloss finish, it is a satin, so 1-step touchup would be too shiny to match. On top of that the metallic makes it very challenging to match color.

Dr Color Chip works well for gloss/clear coated paint on light, non-metallic colors. If you have ever worked with metallic paints before, you know that when you knock down the "bubble" of applied touchip (either via Lanka, Dr Color Chip, or your own compound) the paint darkens because the metallic particles are shifted or removed (they float to the top of the blob and then are disturbed by the flattening process).

I've used it on non-metallic black, metallic black, metallic beige, metallic silver, and metallic charcoal gray. Never had an issue with any of these colors. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't perfect since it really just changes the color of the chip and doesn't actually fill it in, but I'm probably the most OCD person you will ever meet when it comes to these types of things and I'm a huge fan of their kits.
It can't be worse than a Sharpie....
