I guess I'm the outlier...I like the MB platform. Shows you the interior temp, allows for remote start, and shows your gas level (if you use it with Companion). And I can tell you, it's the fastest app to connect to the car (eg compared to Acura, Honda, etc).
2019+, its even better; shows a pictoral of the car, showing if a specific door is unlocked or even open, shows mileage, fuel, allows for remote start, etc.
As previously mentioned, the remote start engine off when you open the door is a theft prevention feature. Annoying, but helpful.
