C63S vs M4 drag race and rolling start...

According to Archie, the C63s is tuned to 620bhp, while the M4 is tuned to 550bhp. Despite the C63s power advantage (over 70bhp), the M4 manages to beat it on a drag race and edge it out on a roll race. Someone please tell me there's something off with the C63s claimed power output.

if its a tune only its only around 600hp i dont think any tune only makes 620hp unless he has downpipes/exhaust and it doesnt sound like it. also if i went to the website they said they have the tune from it says +65/70bhp and that would make more sense why the m4 would win because of the weight advantage. would also like to add the the m4s 1-4th gears are more agressive when it comes to ratios.

Looks like the M4 has slicks on, may have helped with traction.

Weight, transmission, effective whp helps the M4. The MCT is just not as efficient. I had a tuned M4 and now have a tuned C63 coupe. My butt feel says the C63S is faster from a roll but the M4 is no slouch especially when tuned.

The C63S actually barely beat the M4 from a roll and I think the weight difference is around 375 lbs or close.

My tuned downpipes C63S beat a DP/JB4 M4 by about 4 cars from 40-140...

another point is that tuned cars don't make peak hp/tq in the upper rev's, where you will be when drag racing. I don't know where he m4 makes power though, but if you look at the dynos tuned C63s are dropping by 5.5k ish.

Chose the C63s for the better interior and the v8.

Would definitely get a M4 if I wanted something more mod friendly, cheaper and most likely a bit faster after mods.

Example
Downpipes for M4s are $500-600 with less labor for installation.
Dual intakes are $400
Last I checked, some dude wanted like $4k for our platform or something stupid close to it...
Tunes are cheaper as well on the M4.
You geto the idea, guess it's the Mercedes tax...

BMW aftermarket parts used to go for the same range as the MB parts are going for now (ie >$1k for DP's, $2k for software, etc) but there is just SO much competition these days with aftermarket vendors that it's really driven prices down drastically over the past 5 years especially. Perhaps AMG is a few years behind on the mod scene and we'll see more venders start to venture into the space, as Dinan is doing, driving prices lower? Burger Tuning has also gotten into the space a little for the "lesser" w205's... wonder if he'll try on the AMG engine
