2013 C63 P31 Coupe (my 3rd C63!)
Tuned C63 = Tuned C63s?

Considering trading my 13 C63 coupe in on a 2018, but have a question..... Will the regular C63 make just as much power as a C63S after a tune? I see no reason to pay more for an S model if I can tune the regular one and make the same amount of power as a tuned S.

Possibly.... but it will not drive the same. "S" has much more enhancement under the hood than just power output.

The standard C63 has a mechanical differential standard whereas the "S" model has an electronic diff similar. to the one on the AMG GT."

"18" vs 19" rims standard
and grey vs. red calipers
Larger break rotors with different material, drill pattern, upgraded calipers and Red painted"

"S has the active engine and transmission mounts."

Dont forget the Nappa leather all around.

You can actually tune the standard 63 to more power than an S model. But there is more to it than just the HP.

only one of the things you have listed are under the hood. I guess that's where I was confused with your original statement.

Just ignore the original statement. The differences have been stated and the race mode is the only thing that will be difference in the "performance. " In theory they should be the same when tuned. As far as I can tell, they use the same tune. I do not have a hard answer though. However by not having "race" mode you may be leaving some on the table. But in all honesty, I didn't notice any performance difference between race and s+. Just different transmission characteristics.
