There is no specific MB procedure to "increase slowly" Everyone's opinion on this is equally correct. I just run it in sport. I have no intention of launching it until after the 1850 diff fluid swap but i regularly (but without flooring it) run to redline. Just my 2 cents.

Odd. My dealer maintenance costs on my SLK55 have consistently been much lower that on my wife's Infinity SUV.
I guess I will know soon, I just ordered a 2018 C63s for European Delivery (likely mid-April).

I appreciate your response and found and read the 2018 Warranty and Maintenance Manual https://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/Digital...nce_Manual.pdf which does cite on page 100 it is for or covers the 2018 C63S Sedan. No mention is made of any required maintenance prior to 10K miles or 12 months. I did however find that requirement in a manual for a much older model. Perhaps things have changed, perhaps they give you a different schedule when you get the car... time and a consult with the dealers Service manager will tell.

Many thanks for that... since I will be picking the car up in another city I didn't expect to have time to read it before I head home so all the initial pointers are appreciated. Have a 2013 C350 now so not exactly an MB virgin, but this is another animal. Makes me wonder if the cost of that is covered by the prepaid maintenance? They list it on the web here at $2375 for four years so that sounds like a good deal to me.

Its covered. I bought the prepaid maintenance plan. A la carte, the dealer performed maintenance would have been double over the period I plan to own the car. I'm sure that was a ploy to sell the plan but I don't have anyone I trust within a reasonable distance to perform the scheduled maintenance other than the dealer.
