Another New Austin Owner ‘18 C63S Black on Black
I made the switch from a ‘17 C43 to this C63S back in December. I had ordered one and decided to skip the wait to get one with these options instead:
Parking Assist
HUD
Driver Assistance
Perf Exhaust
Night Package
Gloss Black Center Dash
Obsidian Black
Advanced Lighting
Multimedia
Mercedes couldn’t have done a better job. The interior is very similar to the 43. I didn’t have HUD, Park Assist or driver assist on it though. Those options are a nice touch.

I like that it’s great as a daily driver and switching to Race mode turns it into a beast. I have to admit I like to rev the engine just to hear the exhaust haha. This is a sick ride!

Amazing car! Please tell me if you noticed a difference between 9G and 7G transmissions. This is the only thing that holding me to make a switch too... 7G in my old 2016 C450 was a pure crap

Note (please correct if wrong) that the transmission in the C450 is the 7G and the transmission and the C63 has the MCT speedshift transmission. The drive will be completely different in the C63 as it was in your old C450.

The C63S 7G is the MCT (multi clutch) version so it is quicker (100 millisecond shifts) than 7G without it. It also has a wet clutch start up which when I start the car in the morning I have two gears for reverse and rolls from 2nd instead of 1rst (in comfort mode - drive). I'm guessing that the 450 you had was a non MCT 7G? In the grand scheme of things, I can't tell much difference in the transmission when accelerating quickly in both cars. I think I was asked this before and tried to gauge it. There is just so much more power in the C63S that it doesn't matter and I can't really tell the difference in speed of the gear shifts from 9G to 7G MCT.

They are the same basic trans (7G) one has a regular fluid coupling and the other, (the C63S) has a wet multi plate clutch in its place.
It is the same with the new 9G as most of the MB cars will use the one with the fluid coupling and most of the performance ones will use the MCT with the wet multi plate clutch.

You know, I was just musing the other night...I don’t really see ANY C63’s on the road around the greater Austin area. I like that!
Also, the Coupe is maybe the second best looking Coupe on the road, only behind the F Type R. dat ***...

If you upgrade, don't forget to let air out of the tires or it will be a rough ride! Others on here say 35/38 psi is about the sweet spot. When I upgraded they gave it to me with 60psi. I was having doubts and thinking how could this be so different from the c43 haha. It's still pretty similar to the C43's ride afterall.

Welcome to the tribe. I'm in Austin as well. Hopefully when Cars and Coffee finds a new home we can all rally out there together and meet up.

Yep, supposed to still be at concordia, but wouldn’t be surprised if they moved it again. Make sure to reply to this thread if you’re interested in going so we can coordinate.
