SOMEONE HIT ME AND RAN

Trust me, you'll want one of those two -- either are fine. They will catch everything, and you want front AND rear cameras to cover you in all situations. In my case, one of my "hit-and-run" incidences had someone who side swiped me while my car was parked. If it weren't for the rear camera, I would never have gotten a clear picture of his license plate -- get front and rear cameras. I'd also strongly recommend at least Cellink B battery so that the cameras do not cause extra wear and tear on your car's battery and will keep your cameras powered while your car is off.

Damage is already done. His brand new car got severely damaged. His insurance will go up. I'm sure he thinks about it every minute eating away at him. That is money wasted.

I take your point but what we are doing here is looking at ways to mitigate the potential fall out if something like this occurred again in the future. I think the potential benefits of having a front and rear dash cam for example is a decent action to take and is relatively inexpensive too.

Not everyone is a gangsta like you. But big respect to all who live by the gangsta code. In the UK, it is quite important to follow the law and while I wouldnt let someone who did that to my car get away if he hit it while i was driving, i'd tail him and do my best to stop him. Sometimes though if they do manage to get away for whatever reason then the dashcam footage will be enough for the police and an insurance claim which is why it is worth having a dashcam. Insurance. Proves in many cases you arent at fault. But perhaps your only insurance is the glock in your glove compartment?

Exactly, you wouldn't understand because like I said you watch to Many movies based on your comments. If reflects upon the man you supposedly are. Keep amusing me with the camera pitch.

not that I should point out the obvious but in your signature block, you've got two memes in English ... one of which states what a big scary gangsta you are...

Insurance claim, I'd go to Mercedes.
Out of pocket, I'd go to King County Auto Body in Brooklyn. I've used them 3 times now for cars that got whacked in NYC, and every time they did immaculate work. I have a good eye for detail, and those guys missed nothing and have perfect paint and finish matches (finish matching is harder than color matching.... because finish/gloss ages/wears in).
EDIT: WTF?? The forum just emailed me this thread like it was hot and trending! talk about selling dead bodies to the unsuspecting!

Hey man, sorry to hear about your car. I live in Jersey - and would recommend Lux motorwerks. They are pretty famous around the country, so their prices are expensive, but they do a great job. Steve is the name of the owner.

You weren't the only one. Maybe they were clearing out their mail and saw this. Since they'd already put a stamp on the envelop, they decided to post it...

Hi!
After closer look of damage to the car, to me it looks like that this was no other car hit, but spinout of the tail (oversteer) and then hitting something.........
This is what these damages on the pictures tell me.......
Regards,

Don't worry, that is what your insurance is for. Ask them to check the traffic cams, that is their job. If they find whoever did this, they will subrogate this and take them to court then you will get your deductible back. If they do not find whoever did this, then all you are out of is your deductible. (I used to own a body shop, I know the insurance law) Then contact the 800 number for Mercedes and find a certified Mercedes Benz body shop in your area. This way if paint peels or it rusts for some reason, your are covered. I know you're pissed, but concentrate on the repairs now so they are done correctly without shortcuts.

Another reason I support Dash Cams... they dont lie ever. They can support your claim. People lie... alot. How do you know a Subject is lieing? (He opens his mouth.) Without witnesses there is no way to disaprove a liar. Dash cams. Worth every penny.
Also.... if the insurance wanted they can pull your cars CPU and read what the car was doing at the time of the accident. Costly and not done often, but an option.
FED chiming in.

Though would you take the same view if the wheel did half a turn and the white damage was at the top rather than bottom (the car was driven since the incident and has just been parked that way). If you still think it is definitely oversteer, i'll understand but though i'd point that out for completeness. cheers
