C63S Coupe
I just changed to PS4 305/30r20 in the back and man it's a diffrence from the stock 285 wich in my openion looks terrible with the strech tire and dont grip at all. But i am lowerd on H&R adjustable springs and H&R 13mm spacers in the back and 15mm front and i had to raise it in the back and remove the spacers because it keept rubbing the flare(stone guard) or what you call the black plastic on the rear bumper

any kind of modification required for the 305 or is it just a straight swap? thinking of getting the 305s when my stock rears give out!

265/35/19 fronts and 305/30/20 rears on a coupe, on OEM rims, in a Michelin PS4 (tire size varies between manufacturers) fit perfectly, as is. I'm on stock suspension/setup, and the thicker sidewall really fills the wheel gap nicely

I have yet to read about anyone fitting (or even trying, for that matter) 275/35/19s in the front.

does the car require alignment after the tire swap?

Generally speaking, if you're only doing tires, no. Just mount & roadforce balance. Having said that, any GOOD tire shop should be looking at your wear pattern on the car, and if it's abnormal, I'd at least do an alignment check. If it's within specs, I wouldn't touch it.

Also, it's been a few months, but I'm pretty sure my front inners were worn a lot more than the outers (to the point that you could see cords on the inner aspect of the front wheels), but that type of pattern wear is normal due to the aggressive negative camber Mercedes runs on our cars. It makes the steering much more responsive, but comes at the cost of somewhat premature tire wear. Rears IIRC were worn evenly I think.

So had enough of the tires that came with the car 6000miles on it.. Upgraded front and rear.. I feel I want to send a bill to AMG as these should have come out to factory like this.. Now I feel that the car is not trying to kill me everywhere I go..

Have anyone tried 305/25/20 instead of 305/30/20?
Drove my car in Europe on stock tires and did not like them at all. Want to swap them as soon as my car arrives..

How’s the rear grip with the larger PS4’s in the rear? I feel like this car needs drag radials, I spin the rears even at stock boost levels.

I am in same situstion. I have new 2019 C63S coupe ( 1 month)with stock tires: Pilot Super Sport 255/35/20 and 285/30/20 that have 1,000 miles. I feel at times a little "shaky " in wet weather. I'm looking at either PS4S 265 or 275 front and 295 or 305 rear. Feel car will handle must better and safer. I love the car. Any suggestions?

I feel the same with stock tires. I have just over 1,000 miles and feel shaky at times wet roads. I have 2019 AMG C63S Coupe not sure if better with PS4 front either 265 or 275? And rear either 395 or 305? Any advise would be helpful. Is there enough clearance with 305? Thanks.

Thanks. Please let me know what you think. Are you getting installed at MB Dealership or private Tire business?

At a TireRack recommended installer in the area. The circumference change is very close between those two sizes and their stock counterparts though. I think 2.3% larger in front and 1.9% in rear IIRC. Shouldn't cause any issues with the stability systems and from what I'm told they won't rub. We shall see. PS4S by the way.

There's a tiny bit of rub going up steep driveways, but I think it might go away once I let some air out of the tires. The tire shop wayyyy overinflated them (47PSI all around). Can't really give driving impressions until I bleed them out a bit, but the ride is already smoother even that inflated. The wheelgap is worlds better. Almost looks lowered just from the tires.

Let air out to about 38 all around today. Wow is there a lot more grip. I didn't think 0.8 inches on each side would do that much, but I have a feeling the actual contact patch has to be wider on the PS4S or something. Unless this tire is just that much better. Spin is far more controlled even with TC off. I wouldn't be surprised if just the 305s would shave 0.2-0.3s off the 1/4 ET.

I wouldn't go thinner in the front. The steering is definitely heavier, as should be expected, but this car already has a bit of understeer and if you go wider in the rear without widening the fronts you're going to make that balance even more understeer-biased. Feels great with this size and looks amazing. These should have come on the car.

I think the car looks perfect with this wheel setup. The rubbing is what has me holding off. Did that improve when you reduced tire pressure?

Hasn't rubbed since I let air out. Only rubbed twice very mildly before, when I was going up some giant SF driveway entrances that had the car on 3 wheels. No rubbing over big bumps when driving or at full-lock turns. I'm taking the car up to Sonoma for the speed festival this weekend so I'll report back with some extended driving experience.

Thanks for testing this out and the response. I also have to say.. I’m starting to kinda miss the prefacelift grill.. sounds crazy but there are times I want to put it back to the way it was. I always loved the way the prefacelift grill looked until the 43s were assigned that grill. That is what drove the need to change for me.

Anyhow... your car looks superb.

Thanks! I'm actually putting on a Brabus front lip and carbon grill this coming week.

To give a bit of an update, I haven't rubbed once since letting air out to normal pressure levels and the grip is vastly superior. Drove probably ~150 miles on various road qualities and bumps, full-lock turns, etc. In S+ the TCS still kicks in in first, but only a little and isn't nearly as intrusive. Second just grips and goes. Handling wise I enjoy the steering feel more now than I did, it feels more sporty and heavy. Ride quality is much better too.

Thanks for the update and info, I'm going with 275/35/19's up front then!

305 is already nearly flush with the fender. I highly doubt 325 would fit. 315 might, but I wouldn't bet on it not rubbing.
