Sorry for the late reply..

After 2 months and taken the car through some spirited mountain roads... no clearance issue and the grip is way beyond my expectations. I used private workshop bought via tirerack

Usually that would result in a lot a throttle cut and the traction control kicking in pretty hard. I turned traction control off and man, what a rocket! I think you could easily shave a few tenths off 0-60 and 1/4 mile with just these tires alone. It grips so well with the stock power.

I reinstalled the Dinan box when I got home and went out for another spirited drive for a back to back comparison and all I can say is I'm blown away. With traction control fully off, I can actually just nail it in 1st and it'll hook hard, bang into second gear (fully expecting the rear end to kick out like it used too) but I'm still just being shoved into the back of the seat going straight. Before you know it I'm in 3rd gear and it's pulling like a freight train. The last time I tried something like that with traction control off with the Dinan box, I was burning out for a few hundred feet with the stock 285's. Now with the 305's, it feels much more planted. It actually makes me feel more confident in the car now with the added power since before it felt like I was on ice skates even in decent weather.

Super happy with these tires, and they fit absolutely perfect on the Coupe (no rubbing with stock suspension). I was surprised that the tire doesn't seem to be bulging either. In fact, it fills the fenders in very nicely and seems to eliminate the need for spacers.

Here are some pics, the car is absolutely filthy right now so please excuse the dirt!

Hey Alex, would you say you'd get the same level or better grip with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires as the PS4s tires? On dry surfaces on course. If you order the AMG performance tire option for $600 you get Sport Cup 2 tires over the PSS, 255 in the front and 285 in the rear. Would you say you'd get more traction and less wheel spin with the Cup 2s over the stock?

I haven’t tried Cup 2’s but they’re an r-compound tire so they will be way better than stock PSS’s (even in stock sizing). However, I’d still recommend going up in size if you’re planning on tuning.

I’d love to try some Cup 2 R’s in 305’s rear, 275 front. Although I can see myself getting Toyo R888R’s after the PS4S’s wear out.

When warm, Cup 2s will have a lot more absolutely grip than the PS4S. On the street it will take you some time to warm up Cup 2s. If you are going to track the car, Cup 2s will give you a noticeable performance bump.

Nice. I live in Los Angeles so the weather is usually warm. On my BMW M2, the tires usually get no cooler than 75ish in my garage which stays warmer than any other parts of my house or outside. Once I start driving they'll get any where from 90 degrees to 115+ degrees. How warm would you say Cup 2s need to be to enjoy maximum traction?

If this is for a daily driver remember cup 2's pretty much suck in the wet.

Yeah true. I'm considering Cup 2s just because they give better traction than the stock PSS. I plan on switching to PS4s when the first tire change comes up. Also doesn't rain much in LA so Cup 2s should be fine I'd imagine. From reviews and videos I see too much wheel spin with the PSS for my liking.

Got the Nitto NT05 rears installed today 305/30/20, they look great and wow do they hook. Last night I did some runs on the stock setup. The stock M PS2’s spun in comfort mode at 4K RPM and into 2nd. In S+ they spun in 1, 2nd and into 3rd, RACE mode was useless. Tried a “launch mode” and that caused so much traction control that a honda could have taken me.

After install of the NT05’s I can report dead hook in comfort mode, S+ and RACE mode. With my JB4 on MAP1 I still dead hook in C and S+ mode but in RACE only some slight very controllable spin in 2nd. Only thing I noticed was some rear end bounce and the steering felt off. I got home and checked my PSI and the shop had left 55 psi on the RT and 59 in the LT. I aired down to 40psi tonight and will re-test.

I had them pull my RT front off and verified the rims are 9”, so ordered the 275/30/19’s for the front (Nitto NT05 as well). I don’t feel like the car is trying to kill me any more! This car needed wider and stickier tires from the get go.

You might want to switch to 275/35/19 for the front. 275/30/19 is 1.9% smaller diameter than the stock size while your new rear tire is 1.9% larger than stock. The NT05s look awesome though.

Thank you! That was a typo, checked my order and that is what I ordered (the 35 series)! Can’t wait to see how it will corner on the wider and sticker tire, and at the price point of the Nittos I am good if they only last 10-15K miles!

Just FYI: placed an order today for PS4S 265/35/19 and 295/30/20 on tirerack.com, they called and said that 265/35/19 are on backorder till July 20th...

Just got the new ps4s today. It was noticeably quieter and smoother but I couldn’t feel the difference in grip vs the pss. Does it require a break in time?

I have about 400 miles on ps4s and they do need a break in period. I had only 1,100 miles on stock tires on my new 2019 C63S coupe but reading all the reviews/ video clips esp on wet conditions I decided to upgrade for handling and safety. Glad I did and a smoother ride. Handles better on wet conditions for sure. Xdr

So I just changed to 305/30/20 rear and 275/35/19 front for a '17 Coupe.

My first impression hasn't been great, but admittendly, I haven't broken the tires in yet. So it was super slippery when going into an inclined corner at moderate speed. The old worn tires could do this easily, and I'm a talking around 50kph (~31mph).

I also noticed that there was a weird sound coming from the rear when going over gravel. I think it might be the extra gravel kicking up onto the fender guard. It sounds like something is catching, and certainly not a sound you want to hear.

There is also slight rubbing at certain speed bumps, both sharper angled incline and decline. Flat surface seems to be fine.

I'm trying not to get buyer's remorse, but I am thinking of changing to 295/30 rear and 265/35/19 front, as I can't stand the slight rubbing. I do worry that if I have passengers at the back, the rubbing maybe worst.

I do however notice that the camber on AlexZTuned's car is slightly more negative, which seems to tuck the rear tire in more. I'll try and take a photo later.

Would like to known people's thoughts or advise on this.

I just got my fronts installed last night, so now I have the 275/35/19’s F and 305/30/20’s rear and I have no rubbing. The tires do need a bit of break in there are some oils on the outside of the tires from production so if you hit a corner right out of the shop you will go sliding. However here in AZ it’s so hot like 110F that it didn’t take long. My grip is great, and I have no rubbing at all so far. Are you lowered? I am all stock on the suspension. Also verify your tire pressure, the shop over inflated me so that made my rear feel “bouncy” I am playing around with tire press, was running 42 in the rear and I think they put me at 46 in the front so I need to check it today and then play around with it. Let me know what you are running for tire press.

I've got stock suspension and lowered my tire pressure to 36 all around. I'm thinking of going a little lower to 36F / 34R, which is the same I had for my stock MPSS. The tire shop set it at an absurd 42, which I knew straight away without having to look. You'd think they would know better.

I have 265/295 combo and have absolutely no traction issues, but this is without a tune.

It's not really traction that I'm worried about at this stage, it's more about rubbing. I also understand that any new tires requires a break in before it performs at it's optimal.

No rubbing, either. I've had these tires since February and have a couple of thousand miles on them and I can't tell much difference from brand new.

265/305 combo here. No traction issues, and no rubbing issues.

I didn't know if you could definitely fit the 275 up front without rubbing. Not worth the headache of finding out the hard was, cuz if it does, it's your headache to deal with for a loooong time...

Shop put like 47-48psi in my fronts 🤪 I lowered the F36 and R34 to see how this does for the 275/305 setup so for no rubbing! However on MAP5 and 100oct race fuel I am getting some spin into 3rd but it’s still controlable!

Just a small update. There was rubbing on the rare, against the inside fender guard. It's made of some felt like material, which is to dampen any rocks that get flicked up from tyres. The guard was a little lose and not hugging close enough to the fender body, so a little bit of strong double sided tape could fix.

I had the same issue I just lowered my psi to around 35 and seems to have no touching issues.
