Catless Downpipe Sound

I just bough catless downpipe for my c63s v8 biturbo. In the past i had a c43 2017 and i put downpipe on it the sond was REALLY louder (with ecu tune ofc). Some people told me that catless downpipe on c63s with the 4.0l was not making the car really lounder even with the exaust pack and open valve? any people have done it and know the truth? thanks!

Definitely will be louder. Here is a video we took of a C63s with FI catless downpipes + PP-Performance Stage 2 tune. The tune won't add any volume though.

Catless DPs will definetly make the car louder, the turbos more audible and the pops, crackles louder as well. If that's not enough the secondary cat delete on these cars will add more bass and volume too.

i thought there was nothing else to cut off after the cats on the downpipes? i did those... my car sounds nothing like the car in the video. all honesty it sounds pretty crap especially for an AMG. no pops or crackles when just revving engine. jsut a loud engine whine sound. when im driving aggressively it pops and crackles on downshifts etc. but when revving its so quiet. hate it lol i been researching like muffler delete maybe or trying to figure out how to get a sound like basically everyone else seems to have.

The OEM down pipes have the primary cats at the start that bolt onto the turbos and the secondary cats at the bottom of the pipe.

Cat-less down pipes removes both primary and secondary cats.

If you remove the primary cats you will need to get a tune to remove the error codes.

I have my secondary cats removed, with the new software update (separate thread on this) sound pretty damn good. No need to go cat-less and get high off fume smell.

My car below and outside in the open (not in a garage and the sound is not bouncing off walls)... you can hear it for your self.

^ see i want mine to sound like this. i was told i was given that software upgrade too. it did get a bit louder on pops and crackles when downshifting. just on idle its like car is stuck in comfort mode and super quiet. the car gets so much louder soon as i shift from park into drive. even in drive when cars at a standstill its super quiet on idle. more you press brake quieter it goes. that happen to you? thats how come i think when im idle.. and try revving it sounds like in my video. like revving with exhaust flaps closed and in comfort mode. not impressive.

That's odd you need to take it back and complain about the noise some more... Until they sort it out for you.

This was the sound when I had the secondary cats removed before the software update (less pops) - This is also in my garage so the sound is louder due to the walls.

You definitely need the software update from MB. I had similar issues but the car sounded much better after.

In my opinion it's terrible.

My wife knew I had done something to the car straight away (I didn't tell her I was tuning the car).

Some will say it's not bad, but for me I had Vibrant Gesi 300 Cel cats fitted straight away which killed the toxic fumes immediately.

I mainly drive with the windows down so every red light the family where gassed out.

It is not bad at all unless you are right behind the car.

I just had the Renntech Downpipes installed on my 17 C63S vert and the sound is absolutely night and day. I had Catless DP's on my 15 E63S And the smell was unbearable. But it had upgraded turbos etc. My car now is a perfect balance.

I'm looking to get some downpipes -- what brand are most people getting on this forum? They all seem pretty similar... Any brands to stay away from?
